Now N.Y. Times compares Biden to Trump over border crisis and Afghanistan debacle after Washington Post slammed him over freedom of the press

A slew of critical news coverage from the mainstream media and record-low approval polls are the latest evidence the United States is souring on President Joe Biden.

An article titled 'Biden Pushes Deterrent Border Policy After Promising ‘Humane’ Approach,' begins by reflecting on scenes that have surfaced this week of border agents on horseback forcefully rounding up and charging at migrants trying to cross the chest-deep waters of the Rio Grande.

'The images could have come straight from former President Donald J. Trump’s immigration playbook,' the news story notes.

That same day, a new Harvard/Harris poll indicated Trump, for the first time, has overtaken Biden in approval ratings for the first time since he lost the 2020 election.

It comes a day after the Washington Post's White House bureau chief slammed the president for shutting down questions from American reporters during the president's meeting Tuesday with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

It's always amazing how the Kennedy myth continues on. He in many ways was blunder boy, but they put up a good front and people bought in. We were more forgiving and more willing to accept back then; I can't see "Camelot" working today. "The best and brightest" that Kennedy picked to surround him and guide him were anything but the best and brightest, but they were like Kennedy, and he liked being around them ... something like an ivy league fraternity trying to run the country.

You're correct about the JFK and Camelot myth, and also that his presidency wouldn't have survived the scrutiny of today's media.
In terms of who he had around him, I'd much rather have an Ivy League group advising a president than the bush league group trump had around him.

If Trump were so horrific how did he get a higher percentage of the total vote? He gained something like 11M votes. He must not have been as bad as you claim. Without the smear campaign by Dem media 24/7 and Covid allowing for rules changes in states I have no doubt Trump wins. He probably wins if you take one of those away, certainly the rules changes from Covid.
