The Chinese tariffs were the absolute correct move. The problem was that he couldn't sell it on what the real purpose was and that was to hurt American businesses that do business in China. When AAPL moves their sweatshops to Vietnam or the PI, the Chinese would feel the pain. THAT was the objective. The problem was that the American consumer had to feel the pinch first. It wouldn't be fatal, but it would sting. He was 100% right on that and the Chinese knew it.

And then there was an 'accidental' release of the bug.

My ass it was accidental.

I found his hard line rhetoric about China concerning. That was until I realized it is simply his negotiating tactic.

I don't agree tariffs were the right move.

Agreed China was about the only country where tariffing the sheet out of them was the right thing to do. The stealing of intellectual property. The currency manipulation. Etc. You had to be bold and not get cold feet, and it would have a great impact in leveling the playing field. China respected Trump and Xi didn't play games with him like they are doing this administration.

President Biden on Friday issued a stern warning to Border Patrol agents seen this week chasing migrants on horseback, vowing, "those people will pay," amid an ongoing investigation into the images which some Democrats have claimed showed agents whipping migrants.

The president said Border Patrol agents were victimizing migrants: "Horses run them over, people being strapped." However, critics have pointed out the agents were holding onto reins to control the horses, not whips or straps for migrants.
