Someone requested a page for "Empty Shelves Joe" on Thursday at San Diego International Airport. That request was honored — and went viral, with almost 4,000 retweets of the video circulating.

"Airport paging 'Empty Shelves Joe,'" the woman on the intercom announced. "Please meet your party at [inaudible] baggage behind carousel six. Carousel six — passenger Empty Shelves Joe."

Having a huge mobs of refugees on the Mexican side is the only thing that will force Mexico into doing anything at all about people trying to enter the US illegally. Otherwise their policy appears to be "not my problem".

There's also the issue of the Civil Air Reserve Fleet - basically a required operating agreement between airlines and the military to cover the need for expanded military movement of people and equipment.

First step is deny there is a crisis. When denial is no longer possible you minimize the issue (inflation only a "high class" problem (Klain) or inflation isn't growing as fast as it was a few months ago (Psaki)). The final step is to attribute blame outside of the administration.

The Washington Times‘s Stephen Dinan reports that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is floating a memo to the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that would help immigrants keep their naturalized citizenship in cases where they are found to have committed fraud.

A Salon article declared the “honeymoon” between the press and the president “over” as it accused the Biden administration of frequently preventing President Biden from speaking with the press due to fears of what they will ask and how he will respond, while claiming the president was failing due to his “tightly controlled relationship to the media” as he is “walled off by advisers who won’t let him talk.”

Describing the White House press corps as initially “very happy” with its relationship with the 46th president, Karem claims all that has changed.
