Airlines are completely dependent on the government, the reality is they pretend to be private companies but without the .gov they are out of business.

First step is deny there is a crisis. When denial is no longer possible you minimize the issue (inflation only a "high class" problem (Klain) or inflation isn't growing as fast as it was a few months ago (Psaki)). The final step is to attribute blame outside of the administration.

To be fair, that's SOP for any administration but so much is going wrong now it's in overdrive.

Hmmm...I haven't looked through the history of this particular side-discussion, but an airline's stock ticker symbol means that it's a public company, not a private company. Private companies aren't listed on a public stock exchange. It is not, however, a government entity, although like every other company in the U.S., the government keeps giving them taxpayer dollars.

No where near the same as TVA. More like my company a defense contractor. The .gov establishes the board for TVA I believe. All these companies have the executives chosen by the stock holders. Yeah I laughed a little when I typed that too.

They aren’t under government control. But they are serfs subject to the whim of the .gov. Yes we’re splitting hairs and pointing to the fact that there is no real corporate decision here as somebody has claimed.
