Also, keep in mind that the purchase of gift cards from a retailer (because they don't have stuff on the shelves to sell) doesn't count as revenues. Gift cards are a liability to the company that sold them until the gift card is redeemed for actual goods.I think the holiday shopping season will be a disappointment and Q1 is going to be slow with prices continuing to rise. We'll probably see some pretty big layoffs around the end of March into April.

Every day he doesn’t do a 180 on Covid and energy is another day spent getting further away from stability.
Also manufacturing here is taking a huge hit, they are trying to keep hours and jobs for employees but I've just been told by one of my customers that they expect to make massive layoffs early in January. This is an auto manufacturer currently dealing with chip shortages. The manufacturer they make components for has thousands upon thousands of cars sitting in empty satellite facilities waiting for chips.
We are trying to collect as much of the money they owe us as we can from them now.
The facility I mentioned earlier is only running two shifts now, and they don't have the work to run those. I get the feeling they are trying their best to get the workers through Christmas. My son is the plant manager at an OEM parts supplier here in town, he's already shutting down 1 shift and and expects to cut a couple lines on the 2nd shift pretty soon.

I’ve been on this awhile. You can’t keep doors open by building finished goods to a 95% completion. Doesn’t work.
