That is one of the most pro-Carter articles I have seen. it was way worse than that for the people who lived through it. Interest rates were in the high teens, Gas prices soared due to OPEC. I still say that increased energy cost is the single most regressive thing that can hit an economy. It's more pervasive than a tax or a tariff. It hits at so many levels that it's a multiplier. It doesn't take genius to see it, which sure doesn't say much about the fools inhabiting positions in the current administration. And that certainly includes the clown at the Dept of Transportation concerned with his racist roads.
