While you may be trying for a fair point, Trump is a different caliber of liar. Literally like over half of his statements are false or misleading. All politicians lie, Trump does it so much that it actually benefits him because we have all stopped caring about what he says as much as we should. Politifact has said he lies historically more than any other politician in the common era. Whether you like his policies or not, most can admit he is the crafted the art of the lie.

If I had to choose, would prefer neither. Clinton is shady, Trump lies all the time. Both have bad policies. As a Progressive, I think either in power destroy the respective party. So I prefer Trump in office because I think he will maim the GOP in midterms and make 2020 an easy win (though Dems could screw it up by nominating a neoliberals again).

Some would say a centrist can't win either party's nomination. I mean, the last two standing in the GOP were religious conservative Cruz and "blow the whole thing up" Donny.

I'd have voted for Kasich over Clinton, myself. He never polled well.

You all had Jim Webb last time. Couldn’t even make it to the Iowa caucuses. He would have beaten Trump by 6-8 points, at least. However, Democrats like him can’t win the nomination anymore.

I've never voted for a Dem in my life but would have voted for Webb (even though I don't like him).

Lol you know they won't run a centrist. I imagine they'll find a college professor who teaches gender studies or African American studies and has a Karl marx tattoo.

The problem was Jim Webb had a hard time sharing the stage with the rest of the democrat runners. He hadn't been around that many communists since he ran guns abalazin' into a VC bunker in Vietnam.

The best thing ever was when that old commie, Bernie, said something reasonable for a change that the left should look for candidates based on more than their identity.

Then the left started eating itself and you'd see countless posts and articles "didn't know Bernie was a white supremacist"
