Primary concern about this bowl game.

Who is playing offensive line for us…that’s the biggest concern I have. Will all the banged up guys be back (Campbell, Mays, Mincey, Spraggs is out) or will be rolling with the backups? Iowa’s strength is in the trenches so I feel like that could be an issue.

Except defense, and I’m not sold that SEC offenses were that much better than Big 10 offenses this year.
Iowa lost to any team with a pulse that they played in the B1G. We're built much closer to any team they've lost to, than we are to any team they've beat...by every meaningful **predictive** measure.

If UT loses this game...it's a coaching/motivation problem. And let's be real, we have a problem with that away from Neyland.

I guess I’m just older now - and don’t get me wrong - I am very happy we got such a great bowl slot as opposed to the MCB or etc - but this seems far less relevant or important than it used to.

It does not seem far less relevant to me. We have not been relevant for so long that it is really good to get that old familiar feeling.

If we put up 14 points of offense we will 100% win. Maybe even only 10 or 7. Iowa offense is that bad.

We could literally play like we did against Georgia and Mizzou and still probably win. I am not worried at all.

Part of that was Vols didn’t like tackling hard runners like Entenne, Schaffer, etc.

I do think the speed on offense for Tennessee could be a problem for Iowa but Vols can’t let them line up in 2 TE sets with a FB & run it for 10 minute possessions
thats what Missouri did

Our fanbase is all over the Board some say Bowl game don't mean anything throw Nico out there and trash your all year starter. Then ppl talk about Iowa like they are an OOC directional school that's just playing for the pay day. Then you actually look and their rated higher than us in the Top 25. I just hope the ppl discounting team like their trash don't get embarrassed. I think the game is important to give the team a good vibe going into Spring, a spring in their step, if you will . A win might help to secure some Spring Portals that will be looking to get with a program on the rise and I know Josh is looking to fill some key pieces for 2024.

The only people that say bowl games don't matter are losers.

The thing that concerns me are opt outs and portal transfers. You never truly know what's being fielded with a lot of programs except for a few that have tremendous quality depth.

Our DB play had improved from ‘22 IMO but still was pretty bad. So many on this board were not concerned when we lost the first few players some even saying “good riddance”. Then we pretty much lost everyone in the defensive backfield and we will be playing walk-ons, yet the last line I saw was -8.5. Lotta confidence in Vegas in our ability to score against a top 5 D.

Their schedule vs Tennessee?? Are You kidding? Iowa's schedule was probably more difficult. Our mighty Vols played Austin Peay, UTSA, and UCONN. Of course we played Alabama and Georgia, but who else did UT play that would scare other teams? Answer is:NO One

Dude you are clueless. Tennessee's Strength of Schedule is top 15 and Iowa is in the 50s

Haha that’s a horrible take. We will smash your boys in the mouth. We’ll see if the Vols are up for that.

Yes you have a good defense. The stats were built on the back of playing vs offenses that were middling to horrible. You played 5 teams ranked 100+ or lower in total offense and NO P5 teams better than 54
