Prime is poaching

What’s wrong with defending another coach who is being attacked ? Frankly, it blows my mind the way people around here constantly attack and belittle anything not wearing orange.

I don’t care for Deion’s antics, but he’s a winner. Period. I think he will do really well in Boulder and will get a mega job in a few years. He is more than smart enough to hire good coaches to surround himself and he can obviously recruit at an elite level.

He knows what it takes to be in the spotlight and garner attention- and the kids love every second of it. A flashy and successful black coach in a typically white man’s job? They signing up for that for sure.
I’d be very surprised if Deion doesn’t take them to places they haven’t been since Kordell was chunking the pumpkin.

You’re shocked that Tennessee fans on a Tennessee message board speaks highly of their team compared to opposing teams?

The Pac 12 is better than it has been in over a decade. I don't expect Prime to just come in and have as immediate success. I think he will eventually get there, but it will take a few years.

I will not pretend he ever won anything meaningful with the falcons. He dominated that dishpan of water he threw at a 75 yr old Tim McCarver and he most likely has the most tackles by a CB in NFL history by pushing them out of bounds. He did not dominate the form tackle.

Mccarver wasn't geriatric back then and he was a douche who had it coming. Didn't like Deion then nor now but that antic was funny.

Bear was no X and O man but surrounded himself with them. What he was though was a great PR and motivator. Prime will do the same. He wjll win at Colorado mark it down

I have always like Primetime/Deion. He is one of the best players to ever play the game. One of the 10 best cornerbacks to ever suit up. In his prime, he could take the other teams best receiver out of the game. With that said, Colorado is cold and a hard place to recruit to because of that fact. Will he succeed as coach at the D-1 level, we shall see. I certainly wouldn’t bet against him.

Coach Prime is the real gimmick of college football. He is selling his name instead of product on the field. That will not last long. He will get a wakeup call come this fall when he has a losing record.

His timing is pretty good for success in the PAC.... With UCLA and USC exiting it should get easier.

I like your list and would add a few more:
Can he manage a multi-million dollar business with more than 150 employees?
Can he recruit and retain talented coaches
Can he get players with big talent and bigger egos rowing together

He has done these things at a small scale at JSU but I think his self-centric nature may get in his way in the big time.
I think he will do great at Colorado for a few years.. but if it stretches into more than like 4-5 years people will tire of him.. I think if he can do well 3 years later he goes to a big-name program and rinse repeat.. by that time he should have the experience and even more so the time to mellow to maybe become a great coach. Prime is not an X's and O's coach he is a leader of people and as long as he can stay relevant and have some success he will do well. He is a leader of people and as long as he can get staff that are talented and are ok with him being the face he will do fine. Prime needs a Job in CA or Florida those are the places he will find the best success. FSU or UCLA or something like that would be the final landing spots for him long term. Colorado will get tired of him after about 4 years if not less.

I agree. Someone else said it in his thread: he was successful at j’ville st. because he was using D1 talent against DIII talent. Once the field is leveled & he’s playing against other DI teams, he’ll be exposed
I don't think he was that successful at JSU. He did Ok.

Coach Prime is setting records and blazing a trail for HBCU head football coaches that even the legendary Eddie Robinson would be proud of his feats. Since his arrival on the scene, cynics and critics panned his coaching as a sideshow or stepping stone — even so, he made Jackson State a winning program again.

Sanders' first-three-season record is 26-5 (83.4%) at Jackson State. In two-consecutive seasons, his team has swept through the Southwestern Athletic Conference without a loss. His early SWAC winning percentage is better than Robinson's 29-10 (74.3%) record in his first three seasons after Grambling joined the conference in 1958. The G-Men's first SWAC conference title was in the third season.

still not going to beat Oregon, Utah, Washington and Oregon St right now. Looks pretty good against the rest depending on where the games are played. I guess 5th or worst will suffice them.

He succeeded in the NFL by going to the 49ers and cowboys. The cowboys were so talented that Barry Switzer couldn't find a way to screw that up

He‘s the greatest cover corner to ever play football. Period.

I have my doubts about his ability to compete against teams with equal or better talent, but I’m not betting against him.

Sure he was a great cover corner (hence my post that he may hold the NFL record for tackles by pushing guys out of bounds)
But as a person I don't care for him. But that's just me. He may be successful at Colorado he may not. To early to tell. I think you will see if he's a serious coach after his son is out of eligibility. This could go very well but it could also be one of those hires referred to in a few years as a stunt.

Yes real tough guy going after a media guy who is 25 yrs (at least) older than him. And I am not a huge McCarver guy. Going after someone with a dish pan of water screams manly man by the greatest cover corner (pusher out of bounds) in the NFL

So you’re a hater…thanks for clarifying.

At least that's what they HOPE to happen.
And Jackson St (NOT Jacksonville State) is FCS. You have D2 below that then D 3.

SEC coaching is just as good as the talent that resides there.

Pac 12 not so much.

Colorado will go from 1 win in 2022 to Bowl eligible in 2023 imo
I don't know that they'll make a bowl in 2023. They have a pretty tough schedule for year 1 of a complete rebuild.
