That should have been clear in my previous posts. Great cover corner but soft. Nothing more. Simmer down Mrs Sanders.
I for one appreciate that honesty.

If you have hate, don't hide it.

How does someone defending Sanders have anything to do with CJH? Which coaches prior to CJH should have been defended? Are you slow?

Let’s table that last question. 😬

Clearly you can never argue in favor of any coach except for your team’s coach…even if the topic of discussion doesn’t involve your team’s coach.

Mccarver wasn't geriatric back then and he was a douche who had it coming. Didn't like Deion then nor now but that antic was funny.
I share your sentiment.

I'm not the biggest Deion fan, but the McCarver incident hardly holds up as a knock against Deion.

McCarver runs his mouth and smears Deion, so Deion gives him a few ice baths. Maybe it was was wrong of Deion and McCarver's, 'you're a real man Deion' rebuttal was appropriate.
However McCarver never walked back or apologized for his hyperbolic comments criticizing Deion. Comments that did not hold up. I mean, he said Deion was a distraction that hurt the team. Deion then had a very good NLCS and absolutely raked it in the WS. He would have been the hands down MVP had the Braves won.

He told Travis Hunter he’d take him with him when he landed at a bigger program…and he did. I was a big doubter of Deion as a HC and still wonder how long his interest will hold up. But he delivered on that stage and I’m not betting against him.

He was successful at Jackson State, but did you see Jackson State's weak schedule?

At least that's what they HOPE to happen.
And Jackson St (NOT Jacksonville State) is FCS. You have D2 below that then D 3.

SEC coaching is just as good as the talent that resides there.

Pac 12 not so much.

Colorado will go from 1 win in 2022 to Bowl eligible in 2023 imo
Their schedule isn’t easy with games at TCU, at UCLA, at Oregon, at Washington State and at Utah plus home games with USC and Oregon State. They also play Nebraska out of conference. They’re not very good but 2 P5 teams is a strong scheduling OOC. That takes a toll. I’d say no bowl this year.

Commentators used to say he didn't like contact. Said he wasn't a sure tackler. But it's not like a lot of catches were made against him so.....

I don't know where they got that opinion from, but I do recall it being said more than once in his playing days. Not saying it's true either, just that it was said.

I'd wager there's a whole tater sack full of CB's that don't fancy heavy contact. That's why so many of them tackle the way they do. A CB that'll hit hard is usually a Safety.

It was actually fairly smart of Deion. Years of jaw rocking blows can take a toll on the mind, even if it's just a little bit.

Nothing to do with the fact that Chris Miller was their QB….and they traded Brett Farve
Come on, everyone knows that CBs are the most important posistion on the field and are the sole reason teams win or lose.

I mean all he did in his 4 years there was go to the Pro Bowl twice, first team once, second team once, lead the NFL in return yards, had 24 interceptions and 10 tds. Total scrub who did nothing until he joined a better team.

I think it's just as much the nature of the position. DB's do alot of open field tackles and in pursuit tackles while in stride with the carrier. They just don't face the head to head brute force tackles the other positions get.

He was considered Charmin soft though.

Also being really good in coverage he was never going to build a huge head of steam closing on a guy. He was already there and pushing a guy out is a surer way to get someone "down" than trying to wrestle or clobber the opponent when you are close.

It was against the running game and when a receiver caught a pass and ran in open field. He was a great player but didn’t like contact.
