I heard about this several days ago, and my thoughts were: take the anything related to God and the Bible out, but homosexuality awareness propaganda is ok? Riiiiiiight. Public Schools are turning into to crap. Im glad Im no longer employed by such a sham.
If you're going to show the children anything like this at a young age, it should be about accepting all people regardless of how they are. It isn't needed to talk about sexuality with children at this young of an age. I think they have right idea about teaching kids to accept each other but have poorly implemented the idea.
Regardless of your religious beliefs, homosexuality is against the laws of nature. Also, its not caused by a gene, its a chose. If it was a gene, nature would have rid itself of it. Homosexuals cannot reproduce and therefore cannot pass on the gene that would have made them Homosexual.
Learn something about the subject before you talk about it! First, the conservative christian agenda has been, over the centuries, to condemn homosexuals, and to punish (often harshly) those who have been openly gay. In more modern times, they have at least tried to get them to "go straight". With that, gay people have been having straight sex for centuries - small wonder that it is increasing in virulence? What a mystery!
Also, the homosexual gene may be "piggy-backing" on another gene that is actually beneficial for reproducing, and that it is activated by other genes, etc. It isn't that bloody cut and dry.
Learn something about the subject? Ok can a homosexual reproduce with another homosexual, yes or no. Discussion over. Now if you want never be able to carry on your bloodline, great. One less moron on this planet. I can't change the way you think, nor do I care to. But how you could think that having sexual relations with the same sex can be somehow "right" is completely beyond me. Good God we've all gotten stupider as a society. Purely from a survival standpoint, it makes absolutely no sense.
Wow, scientifically ignorant, and a poor reader! My post was about how religious people have compelled homosexuals to reproduce as heterosexuals for centuries - thus spreading their genes.
Wow, that has to be embarrassing, lol. I guess the discussion is over. If you post again I will either be impressed with your courage or your incompetence.
Homosexuality isn't a gene. That's my point. That's great that you think it is, it really is. But that doesn't make it any less wrong. And I'm sure you know all these gay people that were forced to have straight sex, not just making it all up to support your argument. But hey, don't let common sense and facts get in the way of proving your point.
You didn't propose an argument, you just said that a gay gene would not be very successful. Wow! What a breakthrough! A gay gene, in isolation and not piggy-backed on another gene, and outside of the cultural context of religious conversion, would suffer. But, it is an indisputable fact that Christianity and Islam (and other religions) have tried to convince/force homosexuals to convert or pretend to be straight over the centuries.
What in the world are you talking about? Piggy-backed on another gene? Do you study genetics? I doubt it. No, you don't understand. I said a gay gene doesn't exist. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Anyways, I don't really care what you have to say. Be gay, that's fine. Just don't try to make me feel sorry for you. I'll put it this way, you talk about people being openly gay. I don't walk into a room and announce to everyone that I'm straight, and nobody thinks that I should. Why gay people feel they need to tell everybody is beyond me. No need to respond, I won't check back. Goodnight.

Sexuality isn't a choice. You can't change your sexuality. You can develop different tastes over time or find desires you didn't know you had. Why do you think so many pedophiles are repeat offenders? You can't change their sexual nature through any amount of therapy. The same goes for heterosexuals and homosexuals.Regardless of your religious beliefs, homosexuality is against the laws of nature. Also, its not caused by a gene, its a chose. Agreed. Kids should be taught to accept homosexuals for who they are. You don't have to think that their behavior is normal or even natural to accept them and treat them with respect. If you're going to show the children anything like this at a young age, it should be about accepting all people regardless of how they are.
