Speak for yourself. Maybe where you are from/live that's the case, not where I am.

i agree with the rest of your post, though I think a lot of this education should start at home. I dont think it is the job of a school to teach these kind of things.
you think parents should go out of their way to make their children more accepting of homosexuality? Good luck with that.

So, I should be morally OK with them pursuing happiness, but not morally OK with them being gay. You really can't have your cake and eat it too here.

As far as the recruiting goes, why the hell do you think they are showing it in schools?? For sex-ed class?? This is geared towards kids that are trying to figure out what they are, so if you say it's OK now it will be more socially accepted later by them if they choose to go with it. Most every parent that I can think of wouldn't be OK with this being shown to their kids. It's indoctrination at the earliest levels, and if you don't think it is then I got some beachfront property in Memphis to sell you.

i think your overreacting. it more has to do with it being more acceptable for future STRAIGHTS and therefore future gays won't get persecuted. that doesn't mean the video was appropriate though.

I don't think parents should have to 'go out of their way', and I don't intend to either. But I'm pretty sure that through my attitudes and the way I treat others, my kids wont grow up to think that there is anything 'wrong' with homosexuality. If someone is raised by racists and bigots, then that's how they will turn out imo. If someone is raised in a household where they are taught to judge character over sexual preference or race or religion, then they'll probably just naturally turn out to not think being gay is wrong. Kids arent born with these attitudes, they have to learn them from somewhere.

how about forget all the labels and just raise kids to know that all people are different and judge folks for their character?
