Obviously I’m a little behind on this thread but just read this. I have no idea what kind of responses you got to this but will check them out as well. You’re a better man than I am though raising a girl. I have 3 boys and have no idea what I’d do with a girl. I probably would’ve at least broken that boys arm that touched my little girl though. I completely understand why you felt the school wasn’t responding appropriately. The dress code thing makes sense as well from what you say. On the Prince Charming thing, I think you’re being a little sensitive to it but I understand you have a different perspective having a daughter. Given the situation I don’t think it comes across as creepy at all. Little kids don’t think that way and, in that scenario, it’s either kiss her and she’s better or don’t and she’s essentially dead. It’s a love story and the kids is done from the perspective of saving his true love so I think you’re taking it too far in this case. I do sympathize with you having to put up with way more crap than I do in this arena though. It’s hard to understand the other side of an argument unless you’ve been on that side. Another good example, I never understood why some people got upset if someone used the word “retard” when referring to their friends as, in that context, harm wasn’t intended. Now I have an autistic child and I understand it better. I still wouldn’t be upset by it if I heard someone use the word in that context but I get why some people might be upset. If someone said that TO my child that’s a whole other story but everyone has always been great with him from what I’ve seen.I'll jump in.
As the father of a teen age daughter. It is eye opening the disparity in treatment between boys and girls. By way of example, in middle school, I got a call from the school saying my daughter was going to be suspended for punching a boy who had grabbed her a$$. I was essentially told he would also be suspended but his behavior wasn't that big of a deal. Boys will be boys and all. I was able to remedy the situation by demanding the school bring in the police so that we could file a complaint for sexual assault against the boy. We came to an agreement that my daughter would not be suspended and the boy would not be in any class, lunch etc with my daughter and she would not make a complaint to the police.
In high school my daughter started challenging the school dress code. Specifically regarding athletic wear. Tank top and gym shorts. Boys were permitted to wear this, but not girls. My daughter wore the clothes and was removed from class. She was told it was affecting the boys ability to concentrate in class. Mind you the shorts were not short and the only skin exposed was on her arms and legs. She was put in the office and told her attire was disrupting the boys' education. My little girl explained to the administrators that pulling her from class was far more disruptive to her education than anything facing the boys. This went on for a couple of weeks and the principal called me to enlist my help and I informed him that I agreed with my daughter. The dress code was changed.
Now, as far as Prince Charming is concerned... what kind of message does that send little boys. Is it okay to kiss a girl that is passed out? The scene is a little on the creepy side. I guess if you're Bill Cosby it's kind of sexy. Little boys are trained not to accept no for an answer. I think it is time for a better example to be set.
Anyhoo, fire away with personal insults and tell me how stupid I am.
The Squad goes to War with Nancy over Ilhan Omar: Rashida Tlaib says 'freedom of speech doesn't exist for Muslim women in Congress' after Pelosi urged Rep. to 'clarify' comments comparing US and Israel to terrorists
Rep. Rashida Tlaib blasted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democratic leadership for a statement they put out Thursday saying Rep. Ilhan Omar was fomenting 'prejudice' by comparing the U.S. and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban.
'Freedom of speech doesn't exist for Muslim women in Congress. The benefit of the doubt doesn't exist for Muslim women in Congress,' Tlaib tweeted two hours later. 'House Democratic leadership should be ashamed of its relentless, exclusive tone policing of Congresswomen of color.'
Omar accused her critics within the Democratic Party of whipping up 'Islamic hate against her' after they complained she was comparing atrocities committed by American and Israeli troops with those of terrorist groups.
The party has been thrown into disarray at the start of President Joe Biden's eight-day trip to Europe.
Beyond support from fellow Squad members Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Congressional Progressive Caucus also came out in defense of Omar, a Minnesota Democrat.

If someone remade Roots, where Kunta Kinte was white, would that be ok?I don't understand the gripes about this at all. There is literally no reason that James Bond needs to be white and Idris Elba is the best Bond candidate that I can think of. I love Tom Hardy and I do not want that. Henry Cavil doesn't seem right either.

Tom Hiddleston. Wasn’t his name being thrown around?I don't understand the gripes about this at all.
