Prometheus - New Ridley Scott Sci Fi film

I also think they chose the wrong name for the movie. The ship didn't really have anything to do with the plot, and most of the real action happened inside the structure on the surface.

Maybe I'm being a just a bit hard on the movie, but it could have been done better.

I had zero expectation for this movie. In fact, lower than Gi Joe.

Prometheus was chosen because he, the god, created life, he just doesnt get credit for it.

I guess the whole pre title sequence explains it best?

I got that part, but with the ship's name being that, I just thought a lot of the drama would happen on the ship.

I liked it a lot.

It's not a direct prequel to the first Alien movie, in fact, it creates more questions than it answers.

This.

I need to go back and watch Alien again since it's been forever. I didn't hate the movie, I actually enjoyed it but yes I left wondering many things. Not just in the overall Alien universe but from the movie itself.

I don't know really how to describe it, I guess "quasi-Alien prequel" is the best way to do so. Or "Alien sidestory that happens before Alien".

Yeah had nothing to do with alien til the final scene. Also, where the hell does the Avatar comparison come from?

I haven't seen it but the premise of the movie is interesting. Not a fan of the Alien movies & don't care much for the little aliens using humans as hosts (not sure if the movie is like that). If its like that it could be better with something more original.

Prometheus was pretty bad ass....and I'm not a sci fi kind of guy. If you don't like movies that leave you a lot to think about this ain't for you.

Visual wise, I agree with you. However, knowing that it was supposed to be a type of "prequel" to Aliens, which it is to a degree, it had a lot of holes in it. I was also not impressed by the screen play. It even referenced AVP (Weyland), which I thought was kind of weird to do in this case.

It was good, but no where near the film I thought it would be.

Now, I'm just waiting on the new Dark Knight movie to drop. That's going to be an amazing movie.

I enjoyed the "theology".

I enjoyed the "theology".

I did as well.

What got me about it, it didn't have the scare factor for me. That was kind of the allure of the Aliens' films for me, and it was missing here. It was more science versus theology, instead of in your face kick the door down action and horror movie of old.

Weyland was in Aliens.

I liked it but I didn't love it. The action was good but the make you jump out of your chair scenes were pretty predictable. The visuals were amazing though and seeing it in 3d helped that alot. I didn't really expect that much of an Aliens connection but the first generation xenomorph at the end was nice.

Finally saw it over the weekend. I thought it was okay. Looks like they have a sequel planned.

I took my son with me. He was dying to see it and ended up hating it.
