Prop 19 revisited

One example I personally have is pulling 2 teens out of the trees and watching 3 more getting extricated from a twisted vehicle after an accident where they were all getting high. One survived btw.

This argument you make is put in a clear perspective when you openly admit to driving while high. Please refrain from this as we all have family who travel these same "green miles", as you. Stay home when you choose to get high, please.

That's a terrible story, but getting high while driving and driving while high are two completely different things. I never take my stuff outta my house, but I often partake and drive on the country roads. It's cathartic, and I've never once noticed a decrease in my ability to drive.

It's all about personal responsibility. If you are gonna smoke just don't drive.

I smoked weed for the first time this summer, and 2 months later i found myself buying xanax. if i would have never smoked i fully believe that i would have never wanted to "chase the high" I know myself better then any of you out there, so you cant argue with this. Based on personal expierence weed can lead to other drug use. And i have a feeling that im not an alien and that there is bound to be other people out there like me...

You can blame marijuana for trying xannies, but that crap is about as common as green. I myself can't stand pills... but anyway, MJ wasn't my first drug. I have a lot of friends who were the same way, too.

All bs aside, you need to re-evaluate your thought process on this. And please do this while sober. It's like a chicken and egg thing. How do you really know your ability is not decreased if you're high? People often think they are performing well or normal when they are impaired. If you must be on the streets while you are stoned, ride a bicycle or walk.

There's no bs here. I'm an experienced smoker, and it's not as uncommon as you think. I've been in situations where I've had to drive drunk, and I was perfectly aware of how unfit for the road I was. I don't have that feeling with marijuana. It hits some people a lot harder than others, but I never go on road trips without smoking.

Alcohol impairs you, marijuana really doesn't.

It's an effect that one can only understand if you actually smoke it on a regular basis.

As a teacher i get to see what parents drug use does to their kids.

Of course not.

It ceases to be a drug if it is decriminalized.

And it ceases to be a crime... No more cartels, dealers on the streets when you can run down to Pilot and pick up a pack of blunts, it all goes away. Turn it over to ATF and you're off a-runnin'!

So people don't drink and drive even though its illegal??? So then people wouldn't drive and smoke either, because it would be illegal to do so?? And it makes no sense?? Really???
So? There's not a single social or physical danger you can apply to marijuana that can't be applied to alcohol. They are both mood-altering substances that can affect judgment and reaction time.

this should be common sense but unfortunately it's not.
Not like it's all good fun times 100% of the time when people go out and drink either.

It's a double standard. I have no problem with one being for prohibition of marijuana as long as they are for prohibition for alcohol as well.

Depends what drug to which you're referring.

I'm sorry but you really don't have a clue. You like many others blame teachers for kids not keeping up with the rest of the world. But you haven't been in a classroom in decades, if your 75 like you said. You don't see the kids that come in strung out on the very drug you want to legalize. You don't see the problems that these kids have from their parents. It's probably the haze you live in.

I see what you are trying to get at, but no one is suggesting making marijuana available to children. Alchohol is legal, but do we want children drinking? Like Milo said, the double standard that alcohol is legal and marijuana isn't, is ridiculous.

So using your logic here, alcohol should be illegal.

The myth that marijuana is a "gateway" drug has been debunked and disproven many times over the last decade. MJ is no more of a gateway drug than alcohol or caffeine

LoL, I smoked weed and had a craving for doughnuts, not xanax. Wow dude, that's your persobality, not the weed. Don't blame my sweet leaf

actually I wonder if he ever had a drink before smoking. Maybe alcohol was his gateway drug?

Thats the American way. You do something stupid then you blame it on everything and everone else.

initially it might rise but I don't think it would stay up there. Not like it's very hard to get right now if you really wanted to try it

Waiting on the people that would imagine that our streets would be overrun by masses of stoners trying to rape their women and burn their houses down.

Its not for every1. Jus like liquor. But for the govt to tell me I can't possess a flower and smoke it, when my doc will give me Oxycontin, and Valuum is ASANINE.(Examples btw, I'm not on OX or Va. =).) I can't believe you constitutional conservatives even question this. It's a damned shame. That treaty that Ayslinger(sp) shoved through is ridiculous.
