"Protests"

I agree those are your words and not mine.

If I agreed, I would have simply said "agreed" in my last reply to you.

Since you won’t answer that question in a straightforward manner, let me ask this:

Do you care about what happens to black people?

I am becoming more and more convinced that there is a sizable portion of white folks out there who genuinely don’t care about what happens to black people.

By the looks of Chicago and black on black crime, I'm convinced black folks who don't care about each other.

These responses pretty much affirm what was said earlier. No form of protest would be effective for you all. You wouldn’t be willing to listen to what they had to say regardless. The preferred protest for you all is the one which can easily be ignored.

That’s my interpretation of it.

I hope my posts don’t come off as being angry at you all or anything. I’ve found the discussion interesting, and I appreciate that we haven’t sunk to name calling or rudeness. Thank you all for that.

what are they saying? What do they specifically want me to do? I don't care that they protest, it's their right, I just don't know what they want or what they want me to do.

They want a real discussion about police brutality and equal rights? Has it worked? Not yet. Can it? Maybe.

What rights do black people not have that white people do? Honest question

On paper we have the exact same rights. The question lies in is the treatment of black people worse at the hands of the police? I don’t have the data on hand to say one way or the other, nor personally have I encountered it. That said I personally take any interaction with a police officer very nervously. I also don’t think folks would claim police brutality without good cause? What benefit would they get from making the claim falsely?

I think engineers have a saying “the last 10% of a project takes 90% of the time”, I think that’s where we are as a society. We have come a long way, but there are still these differences that are going to be difficult to address and difficult to solve.

Why do people lie about being raped? Why do people lie on job resumes? Why do people lie in general? Why do people cheat and lie about it? What benefits do those things have

So do you think all people lie about being raped? Do all people lie on job resumes? Do all people lie in general?

Even if some do, will you disregard all who bring up accusations?

Yes, all people lie in general. You didn't answer the question, what good comes from when somebody does lie about it? You said nothing comes from lying about police brutality. What good comes from lying about being raped?

And no, not everyone lies about being raped. There are a lot of legit rapes that happen. Just as not everyone lies about police brutality, a lot of it happens. Just trying to point out that there will be some instances where lies do happen.

I genuinely don’t know what the benefits are of lying about rape are. If you don’t get caught then yes there are the potential financial benefits, if the person has money.

I do understand the benefits of lying on a resume, because you want the job and it’s a means to get it.

I agree, there may certainly be instances where police brutality is alleged, but I dont believe that applies for the bulk.

I find it sooooo like the media to highlight players kneeling on the sidelines but avoid showing any clips of the fans booing and yelling insults in protest against them. The ownership of the media wants a race war for some reason and they are well on their way to getting it. They have the black population believing there is a huge problem with the police and have goaded them into sticking a pin in the eye of patriotic Americans. Who thought this would turn out well?

saying the players kneeling during the anthem are doing it to disrespect the flag is like saying rosa parks refusing to get up was trying to disrespect transportation.

I would agree that black people are treated worse than others by the police. It is also a fact that the heavy majority of crimes are being committed by black people. How can this be avoided? I assume that if white people were committing the majority of the crimes things would be reversed. No? I have seen white people treated badly by the police, bad police are bad police, but since the number of overall incidents are lower the bad incidents are lower. Follow? I am all for pressing the police departments to get rid of the bad police 100%.
