I would argue that he quit in the second half. Along with every player on that team. Bama hit them in the mouth out of the gate and we laid down.Come on. Milton played about as well as he's capable of playing tonight. He ran hard and busted his butt. Did he make mistakes? Absolutely but he didn't give up. Not sure I can say that for every player wearing white today.
Actually the second half letdown was the entire team. Like we figured we had it in the bag and took our foot of the gas pedal. This guy has got to feel the most pressure of any qb in the country for his lack of ability and he played well enough for us to win and the defense let us down second half. Credit to Bama for getting it done. Go Big Orange!!!
Agreed. The entire offense was clicking, Joe did pretty well first half.Milton was dominant first half. He and Squirrel were on fire. Second half Coach played conservative. Milton had some really good runs when needed, but Banks could not adjust to Bamas desperate play calls. That game played at Neyland would be a loss
Ahh I see the ol battered vol “refs won the game” take. Stats don’t always tell the tale. Making plays/decisions when they really count matters. Joe is incapable if that.He sure had good IQ on his fumble and INT, great IQ on a missed read play and several inaccurate throws. He made bad decisions the entire first half and held onto the ball for years. His OL and running attack (and his DBs holding our WRs/no calls) won him the game, not his play
Just check the stats, seriously. Saying he won so he made the winning plays doesn’t hold water, other players played well (aka what happened for Milton against A&M)
I totally agree, Milton had a very good 1st half, and why Hype decided to go conservative with play calling is beyond my understanding. When you are playing a good team you have to continue to play with the same way that got you the lead, or you give the other team a chance to come back. We very rarely blitzed the 2nd half, very little pressure on their qb the 2nd half. That is what lost the game. And also going for a 4th and short, I still don't understand shotgun formation.Milton was dominant first half. He and Squirrel were on fire. Second half Coach played conservative. He had a great 1st half. Everything went sour opening possession of the second. It is what it is. Great analysis. 4th and 1 on our 30 is was the turning point. You are dead on about blitzing. They were totally confused when we pressured him. I refuse to believe we can't beat the majority of games left.I totally agree, Milton had a very good 1st half, and why Hype decided to go conservative with play calling is beyond my understanding. I guess Joe should have thrown a pick and let his RBs run for 60 more yards so we could say he was an elite QB like Milroe, dang JoeAhh I see the ol battered vol “refs won the game” take.
