Proud of Peyton.

Four neck surgeries later, the man took his team to a super bowl. I am so proud, and I know he will get a lot of hate because he didn't play great tonight, and his playoff record is under .500 now. But the man is a champion, whether people want to admit it or not. He is a class act. He represents my university very well. And people who say he, "never beat florida", and "chokes in the playoffs" I would just like to remind you how it is a team game. Each NFL roster has over 50 players. While QB is very important, Peyton never had a chance tonight from the first snap on. The Broncos didn't play well tonight in any aspect, QB included.

All in All, Thank you Peyton for being a class act, and bright spot for all Vol fans. We are very proud of you. I know I'm speaking for many in this post, but I have faith in you that you will continue to shine both on and off the field.

What happened last night is what the usual trend is...the better defense usually wins. Of course Denver never really looked to be in it with all the mistakes and blunders. The Seahawks came out fired up and just took it to them.

Everything he has been through, everything he has overcome to get here, everyone should be proud of him. Just stinks this is how it ended.

Will always be proud of Manning. Denver was outplayed tonight. This lose is not on just Peyton.

I haven't read the whole thread yet. But I will say this anyway. This is very likely the only post that makes sense without being grandiose about anything. The team known as the Denver Broncos simply got beat by a better team. It wasn't Peyton that lost, it was the Broncos. Russel Wilson didn't throw as many yards but made damaging key plays when necessary. The Seahawk blockers were usually better whether pass protecting or getting needed rushing yards. Their WRs caught and held onto balls. Their defense penetrated and/or disrupted repeatedly. However, their secondary got away with too much holding and late hitting in my view. But the bottomline is the Seahawks didn't just come to play, they came to win and it showed.

This is in no way a shot at Manning, but more of a shot at VN.
I get the feeling the same people that are saying the Broncos lost the game would be saying Peyton won it had the score been reversed.

THIS! It's practically the first commandment of the Volgod congregation. Reality is meaningless to them.

Seahawks did a good job keeping Peyton on the bench last night. Converting what seemed like every third down situation they were in. These games are won in the trenches.

Not sure how anyone could debate that a 5x MVP isn't even the best quarterback in the league. Peyton is the best quarterback EVER!
GO VOLS!

it would depend on how the game played out but his surrounding cast has received plenty of praise during the season. Of course we'll never know so your hypothetical is useless

face it when peyton is up or leads he is great but put him under pressure or behind n he makes mistakes ie. turnovers..

he is-a great qb but not the best ever.. n thats a fact.

i/wish he would retire n get bored n come to tn n some form but wont happen..

You're a bumbazz. Peyton gets no credit when he comes through in the clutch. Against new England he continually made amazing plays to help I've the game. That was on a huge stage in the most critical time and he delivered. Same as when they played the chargers. Why don't you go root for bama.

yet those ESPN aholes blamed him for it all - then pointed out all the negatives

They know they screwed up the Heisman for him, and they have been trying to prove they are right since then..

Not gonna happen.

The statement above is obviously made by someone who is ignorant of the facts. Peyton has the most 4th quarter comeback victories of any QB in NFL history. NFL Career Fourth Quarter Comebacks Leaders (since 1960) - Pro-Football-Reference.com

BTW: do you think he and the Broncos faced any pressure situations to get to the Super Bowl. It's not like their names were drawn out of a hat and they won the Super Bowl lottery. They had to win a bunch of games to get there in regular season and play offs.

The Broncos D is average at best, and they're down some difference-makers. The O line was ineffective. The WRs were overwhelmed. Special teams was awful. The game got off to a disastrous start. Holliday should have called a fair catch, instead of pinning them inside the 15. Then a bad snap went for a safety. Seattle scored an easy TD against a lackluster Broncos D, then the Broncos O kept going 3 and out, keeping Peyton off the field.

Seattle had all the momentum from the opening drive, and the Broncos just imploded. If the Broncos had gotten off to a good start, they would have settled down and it would have been a different game. Peyton wasn't his best, but no QB could have saved a team self-destructing at every position. It was a terrible end to a special season.

No, I believe that my hypothetical made the point I was trying to make. The point is many were ready to give credit for a win, but when they lost, they want to deflect any responsibility Peyton had in it.
Once again, not saying it was all on Peyton, just an observation of people's reactions.
Btw, sorry that I wasted your time with my useless post.

This.

Around here he's praised to the moon as THE reason his team wins, and he makes everyone around him better; when they lose, it's because everyone else sucked and let him down.

I don't even disagree with the part about Manning making everyone better, but the fact is you can't have it both ways. And no last night wasn't all his fault, but he played no better than anyone else on his team.

your point was useless because there was no way to know how your fantasy game played out. Without that you are simply making up stuff in an attempt to call out people who don't exist. Good job

Peyton may be the last standing drop back quarterback...His days may be numbered.. and the days of NFL drop back quarterbacks surely are.. just ask the Seahawks and qb Wilson ...Tremendous NFL run anyway.. Will Denver be back to Super bowl before he retires??
