Chaz hit one of the biggest shots of the game. He had a bad ending at Vandy, but the kid is learning about playing in this league under fire. He'll be fine.
Not worried about his shot/confidence at all. I mean he has that ability anytime he is open. Problem is getting open. He's been having trouble getting separation. I'm not even going to into his utter lack of ability to drive or play any meaning isolation.

I don't know why you were necessarily surprised? The guy has been playing really good every game in conference. He just continues to improve.
He didn't have a ton of points tonight but he kept Broome in check for the most part.
Broome was the difference in this game - nobody kept him in check. 16 points, 14 boards, 4 blocks. Nobody on the court outplayed him.

Not necessarily, the guy is going to get some points. Felix held him under his average in a game where every point was huge and extremely hard to come by.
In respect to Broome, Felix had us in a position to win on the road and in one of the most hostile places to play. We just couldn't hit the shot on the end.
Had ZZ hit that shot he ends up with 17 and more than Broome.
I've seen Broome absolutely work other teams, btw.

Remind us of the last end of game corner 3 he took…I don’t recall one?
Remind me of the last time he hit a three in the corner off a side inbounds pass at any point in a game? I promise you Pearl would have taken Ziegler taking that shot 100 times out of 100. Ziegler is a tough SOB on the defensive end and a great shot creator on the offensive end, he is also good at getting to the rim, but he is not the guy you want taking deep shots when you have to have them. He’s not a good shooter.

Not trying to be argumentative, but Broome’s been out injured for 2 weeks and was questionable to play. He clearly wasn’t back physically 100% and conditioning. He’s likely the national POY and is getting the Edey whistle. All things considered, he was clearly the dominant player on the court and that’s not a knock against Felix.

Injured or not, he did what I said.
He's the best player on their team ( maybe in the country), he should be their dominant player. All you can do with a player like him is put yourself in a position to win by not letting him go off on you. Felix did that.
We beat ourselves this game more than anything with guys like Igor giving us nothing/not scoring more as a team.

The biggest problem with Chaz right now is that he is the only offensive option on the team. Every defense sees that and that is their sole focus. Chaz is a good if not great player but he has to have someone else step up and be a shooter. Gainey, Igor or Z have to hit some open 3s. I truly believe if anyone can take the defensive focus off Chaz just a little bit then his game will open back up. It is way too much pressure to have all 10 guys on the court know that he is the only real option other than drive at the end of the shot clock. I think Igor probably needs to be the key but anyone will help.

I think Rick called that with the plan to get the rebound as well. The shot was early leaving time for a rebound and if you watched we had 3 guys driving towards the basket and were in position for the rebound had it not gone hard off the rim. I think he felt it would be open because they would sag a bit looking for Z to drive as well. No way Auburn was letting Chaz get open for a 3.

we saw it here, and it is still the same. on the floor, bruce pearl is the best coach in college basketball. the hurley guy can yap all he wants, but pearl is on a level of his own. i still think the problem here is what it usually is with barnes, he is always one scorer away from having a team that can win it all. when a couple guys get hot, we can beat anyone, but when that dont happen, they can lose to anyone

Oh piss off. He is no way better than the guy who has won back to back national champioships. My God some of you are just not very bright.

I agree in parts of Chaz struggles… but I think we need to establish some “post” presence on the offensive end and we need to do it in a HURRY!!

Chaz, along with ZZ and Gainey, have been finding themselves playing “tight” in these type of matchups (moreso Chaz), but mainly because they are depended on producing ALL the offense….

If we had some type of “offensive identity” in the post, that will free up so much more for our guards to play and shoot more freely… and this has been an issue for Barnes for years now…

We have yet to establish offense in the post on a consistent basis since Grant… I do like that Felix has stepped it up and showing he can defend some of the best, but that 4 position is a weakness…

IMO, Igor could honestly provide the same production that players like Broome provide for Auburn, but he’s just not consistent and sometimes lack effort!! I honestly thought he would be the “breakout” star out of all the transfers.

He’s gotta be that Jamey guy who calls in to all the local sports shows in Knoxville all the time to express his love for Brooce 14 years after he left.

1 final four says otherwise . He’s a circus clown with a clip board and it shows in how his team acts and the titles he hasn’t won.

The series before where Igor took the shot on a drive and was just fubar. They go down and make 1 of 2 free throws. I think we ran a play (last possession) discussed on the TO, and Barnes schemed up a open look shot with time for a put back, but the rebound bounced caromed right to AU. I would bet Barnes would say that they got what they wanted just came up short. JMO

I agree about our team though, they gave a phenomenal effort. A real shame it wasn’t rewarded, I hope we still have something in the tank for Tuesday
Yeah both teams must be exhausted. I expected to more than likely get routed. Ultimately, maybe they found key to playing better on the road, even if didn't win. Auburn is legit #1...they're a better team as a whole, and didn't realize they had such a good D also. We have to figure out how to get our offense going.
