Pruitt on Banks at linebacker: 'I think he could play this week.'

I like this move I honestly think he could really help us he has that Al Wilson mentality!! And he turns out anything like him we are going to be very very happy pretty soon

For those on the forum too young to know of or had the chance to watch Al Wilson play, I can say there's been no one since who could match his intensity and desire to get to the ball. Anyone who even comes close will be a heck of a LB or player. He was hopping around from the first snap to the last one. Never dropped off. Dislocated his shoulder, popped it back in and went back in for war.

And in shape that defied most of that era...

Not really...

AJ Johnson, and Curt Maggit started as freshman. Kirkland too

Could be that Banks is just a natural

And those teams were terrible UT teams, too if I remember correctly--either 6-6 or 7-5....just shows how far we've fallen in talent

IDK man...i was thinking.
What if Urban and Saban and Spurrier were all in the SEC in the 90s. And we still signed the players we did back then...

There is strong correlation to the downfall of our program with the energence of Saban and Meyer...

And i guess my point is. We started to suck mainly because we got out coached and...lesser talent came our way as a result.

Yeah he was one-of-a-kind if he wouldn't have hurt his neck he would be playing in the NFL for a lot longer than he did

AJ and Maggitt would've NEVER seen the field on any Vol team of the 90s....actually--they couldn't have played any on our defenses all the way up thru 2007. We were still supplying the NFL with LBs at that time....people forget that Fulmer's last 2 recruiting classes really sucked.

I was lucky enough to watch him play in Jr High, High school and at UT. I played for Northside and JCM was one of our biggest rivals. He was a beast and a man child then
