Pruitt on Banks at linebacker: 'I think he could play this week.'

I think at the end of the season we will be able to point to this move/decision and say..".Right there it was, the point where the orange ship started sailing again"

Fumbles killed him, but he was the most aggressive and physical running the ball of the group.
Watching him in the LB drills it’s apparent the kid has pop and the body type. Standing next to Pruitt he is bigger than I thought.

I love his willingness and heart. UT needs more like him. I hope it works out great!
Could he be a a Myles Jack (UCLA) type guy?

With Pruitt saying that Banks asked to play LB during the GA game, when do you think he started practicing the position? Maybe Pruitt thinks he can play this week because he started practicing there during closed practice portions after the bye week. That would give him 3 weeks of practice with the bye week practices being confirmed as more a fall camp style week.

"We're very simple on defense."

That's all I need to hear. We're playing very well if that's the case. Seems like we're gonna just keep getting better every game.

Yeah, that comment struck me as pretty odd. It would seem CJP has a lot more up his sleeve in terms of defense. They've gotten better, but this seems to indicate they could improve quite a bit more. If so, looking forward to it.

If you think Banks is only 211 you are silly. He is bigger than half our Linebackers.

Edit: But you’re right he is going to have so much trouble with 300 lb lineman it’s not like he never ran through them or those 230+ lb Linebackers.... you know, when he was running the ball.....
If I remember correctly he was listed at 6'1 211 pounds on the roster posted by UT. His height/weight was listed at about 6'2 220 on Rivals and other websites in High School which is why I remembered UT listed him lower than had been publicized last year.

This is a chess match. We are just giving Muschamp something to think about. CP is offering him a poison pawn.

Jumping in the middle without reading all 6 pages, but...........Redshirt already burned, he's not going to get many if any carries until his fumbling is fixed, special teams reps are pretty cheap, no more JJ Peterson questions after every game.

Inside LB needs some depth and Banks can provide it. They won't put him in any complex schemes that doesn't include flying to the football and hitting the guy that's carrying it. Why not?

Plus, already has the hands of a linebacker.

Yeah, that's all he did was run into piles. That's why everyone was saying he should be the number two till he started fumbling. Good grief.
Lol. I was just joking. I like Banks as a football player he has the same type of mentality that makes JJ special.

LBs first read is typically RB and TE. It’s a little smoother transition since he understands the schemes when he is a running back.

I always to LB's for granted. I have never seen such terrible LB play as I have the last 2 years. As a group, our LBs are terrible. bituli has some natural ability, but not great. Kirkland hasn't been very good since his freshman year.

I think Banks will provide a spark and will make some plays. He is bound to make some mistakes, but I think the juice is worth the squeeze in this case.
