Pruitt Should Apologize to Fans, the Team & Re-evaluate if He Still Wants to Be Coach

This recruit class took a nosedive. Multiple misses. “Sure things” flipping to other schools on NSD.

HUGE holes in the secondary and O-Line with little options to fill them. All while, Pruitt stayed at Alabama to coach in the playoffs—time that shouldve been spent working 100% on this recruit class and team.

Alabama benefits and at the same time sticks it to us twice: Pruitt helped them win another NC and it obviously negatively affected this years class and Pruitt’s ability to bring in talent.

Phil shares the blame in allowing him to coach an extra month at Alabama.
I don't understand your specific kind of stupid, but I do admire your total commitment to it.

Likes, are you kidding me. You are such a disappointing collection of fans. You few dissenters who may financially support our school, while admittedly have every right to disagree, yet not everyone, have dissenting opinions, I’m betting, but in fairness will likely guaranty most don’t support our programs. We have every right to tell you to piss off when we have been athletes and earned advanced degrees on our own dime through hard work and sacrifice. Further we have our own companies and have our school to thank for it. Entitlement is a sad version of a participation ribbon. Earn your goals, that is why we have goals, degrees and rankings.

I mean I know it's Bama but I hear they too have phones and computers in Tuscaloosa.

Well, it's actually tin cans an a string what crosses the state line to a real telephone here in Pulaski, Tennessee. Their digit-al computers have only 5 bit words cause that's how many "digits" they got on one hand (they use the other to do the countin).

OP is extremely overly dramatic. However, putting your new job on hold and staying loyal to your old job isn't the norm. It does make you wonder if it could have made a difference with 1 or 2 kids. But to put it in perspective for the long run those 1 or 2 kids won't come close to defining Pruitt or the success he has here.

Can we at least give the guy until next signing day to start bashing him? He got thrown into the fire with an early signing period and is taking over a 4 win team. What would you tell recruits that would make them want to come to this dumpster fire? “We can offer you playing time.” So what, kids want to win above all else. People just need to face it, Tennessee is a HARD sell right now coming off our worst record in history. Give the guy some time.

One of the dumbest posts since Coach P has been hired!

"Sure things"? And, you're editing your post, 6.5 hours after the op?

Chill,DocVol -- your support for the Program has been noted (likewise, you could consider apologizing to Coach Pruitt, his Staff and the recruits).

Here's a message for you, from Coach Pruitt:

Tennessee football coach Jeremy Pruitt says Vols 2019 recruiting class will be 'at the very top'

This is one of the reasons I argued against Pruitt staying at Alabama.

It did 0 to aid Tennessee but it helped Alabama win a title.

When your choice as Tennessee head football coach doesn't help Tennessee and helps Alabama, it's always the wrong choice.

Can't be helped now. He's off to a D+ start. He better be a great coach, but of course we have no idea if he is that or not.

Absolutely. A lot of you can’t handle what I said, but this is exactly right.

There is now no TANGIBLE proof, CONFIRMED, that him staying to coach in the playoffs was of any benefit to Tennessee.

That’s all I care about. And now we know.

70-75% of all 4 or 5 star recruits signed in the early signing period on Dec. 20th. Jeremy Pruitt was named head coach on Dec. 7th and only had until the 18th before he was forced to stop recruiting (dead period).

That's 11 days to pursue the best talent in the country before they signed to schools that have been working on them for years.

Realistically, extremely few coaches would be successful in those circumstance and Pruitt made the best out of a horrible situation.

If you want to be mad about this, be mad at the administration for botching the coaching hire and giving our head coach 11 days to form a recruiting class.

You got your "What I care abouts" all effed up.

The Man (spelled with a capital M) honored his commitments he made to players and team that he made before any committment to Tennessee. That's honorable. Most real Men recognize that and respect that.
However, there are those men (lower case here) who probably won't ever be real Men because the needle on their moral compass is irrepairably bent. You all will whine and complain and beyotch about this like little girls til the cows come home. It's juvenile and patently stupid to make such an issue over it.

How many people are going to keep repeating the lie that you stop recruiting during the dead period. You can call or text every recruit in the country every day of the week during dead period. Dead period only means no face to face meeting. Of course our coach was working like heck for 3 weeks during this time period....for Alabama.

One of the 3 main ones, heard it on WNML on way home.

Well there's your problem.

Listening to them is making you look wrong.

Because they are wrong, and parroted without research.

They are 9th in the SEC 27th nationally.

With a class reminiscent of ol Butchy Boy. 17 3 stars and the only 4 stars being ATH and Wr. Along with a dual threat dime a dozen qb.

Meaning they took who they could get taking advantage of the plethora of 5'10 to 6'1 athletes that get a disproportionate amount of 4 star ratings (its a flaw in the rating system).

Look who we competed with to get our guys. Our recruits lie more in the rare earth mineral category...properly sized for positions that are hard to recruit for.

We really only missed on DB's that sucked a little but our rating per player and the quality of this class is very impressive given the time factor, 60th ranking pruitt faced, and the schools we beat for our gets.

Anybody(Butch, even) can throw together a mismatched cast of 3 and 4 star generics by aiming a saiga shotgun at the pool of recruits and emptying the clip.

But then, you end up with a roster like ours....a hodgepodge of mostly unwanted, undersized athletes and run of the mill dual threat qbs, and 5'10 170 ATH.
