Pruitt Should Apologize to Fans, the Team & Re-evaluate if He Still Wants to Be Coach

Well there's your problem.

Listening to them is making you look wrong.

Because they are wrong, and parroted without research.

They are 9th in the SEC 27th nationally.

With a class reminiscent of ol Butchy Boy. 17 3 stars and the only 4 stars being ATH and Wr. Along with a dual threat dime a dozen qb.

Meaning they took who they could get taking advantage of the plethora of 5'10 to 6'1 athletes that get a disproportionate amount of 4 star ratings (its a flaw in the rating system).

Look who we competed with to get our guys. Our recruits lie more in the rare earth mineral category...properly sized for positions that are hard to recruit for.

We really only missed on DB's that sucked a little but our rating per player and the quality of this class is very impressive given the time factor, 60th ranking pruitt faced, and the schools we beat for our gets.

Anybody(Butch, even) can throw together a mismatched cast of 3 and 4 star generics by aiming a saiga shotgun at the pool of recruits and emptying the clip.

But then, you end up with a roster like ours....a hodgepodge of mostly unwanted, undersized athletes and run of the mill dual threat qbs, and 5'10 170 ATH.

I don't always fish in 5 fish bass tournaments, but when I do I go for the big trash fish like carp, gar, buffalo, etc. I get a lot of weight (*'s) but they don't do me much good. I wonder why?

This recruit class took a nosedive. Multiple misses. “Sure things” flipping to other schools on NSD.

HUGE holes in the secondary and O-Line with little options to fill them. All while, Pruitt stayed at Alabama to coach in the playoffs—time that shouldve been spent working 100% on this recruit class and team.

Alabama benefits and at the same time sticks it to us twice: Pruitt helped them win another NC and it obviously negatively affected this years class and Pruitt’s ability to bring in talent.

Phil shares the blame in allowing him to coach an extra month at Alabama.

Can't believe there are 50 people out there that would like this trash post

Good grief. It’s people like you that make Vols fans everywhere look bad. This is a top 25 class. He swung at a bunch of 4-5* and missed. So what? If he starts winning it will all change. Till then delete account

Any body go fishing for a buffalo don't know a good fish from his bass. Common sense knows all the buffalo are home on the range. You should try 1 800 Dr Phil.

He inherited a better situation than both Fooley and Botch did. And even those two snake oil salesmen pulled in better classes in year 1 (zero) than this guy who decided it was more important to coach our rival team for weeks after he “accepted” the job here.

Jokes on you too Bc he actually MADE you all cheer for Alabama.

Sickening.

How is what he came into better than what those two came into? Worst season in history and all the negative news about our botched coaching search. Add in the early signing period and boom... Get over it, will be better next year.

And just listen to yourselves. Two months into Pruitt’s tenure and he already has you guys conditioned for failure—you’re repeating the same tired lines: “we’ll get em next year.” And, “next year’s class will be better!”

You fools said the same thing over and over and over with Dooley and Butch. Get mad at what I say if you want to. But all we have to base CJP on RIGHT NOW is him caring more about a rival team and delivering a NC to them WHILE HIS FIRST RECRUIT CLASS ENDED UP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEC.

Where have you been for the last decade? Do you not care or don’t remember? Which is it?

Facts are facts. And the FACTS are, our “Coach” didn’t fully commit to THIS JOB until three weeks after he said he wanted to coach here.

Say whatever you want to make yourselves feel better. “He did the right thing.......finished what he started......it was a dead period.....it looks good to have him win a NC.....blah blah blah.” That’s the exact reason why Alabama/Georgia/Florida/Auburn will keep clicking off championships while Tennessee drudges the bottom year after year.

That's factually incorrect. He was working at/for UT until the dead period

Do you think USC, PSU, Miami, OSU, etc.....coaches took off few weeks during the “dead period” to go lay by the beach until the dead period was over and their classes just magically zoomed to the top?.

Such a tired argument.

He could easily do his job during the dead period while also preparing. Do you think the bama and uga coaches weren't able to recruit their kids during that time? His location during the dead period is irrelevant when discussing recruiting

Every point you make is complete nonsense and just shows you have zero understanding of the entire process. Stop while you're behind

I want you to take my meaning here personally, and I hope you learn from it. You, and those agreeing with you, have a incredibly effed up sense of loyalty, sportsmanship, and honor. One could say your parents failed you miserably, but we all know good families with black sheep who are effed in the head.

This bone you keep chewing, about Pruitt honoring his commitments at Alabama through the championship, is beyond stupid. Your false sense of what sportsmanship is you continue to harp on should only embarasses yourself. But you can't see that. Your posts are an embarassment to honorable Tennesseans who follow the ideals of sportsmanship and the lessons youth should take from sports participation.

Please, if you ever find yourself in a position of coaching children tell their parents about your ill conceived ideas so they have the opportunity to take their kids off a team whose coach is bat s#!+ crazy.

You are so completely full of it. When you die to save money on a casket they can give you an enema and burry you in a match box.

The whiners of this thread if you don't like the coach or think UT is going in a good direction why do you stay???? Go cheer for another team. The man did the right thing under the circumstance. It wasn't going to make a huge difference in this recruiting cycle if he stayed for the championship or bolted. If he had bolted some folks would have been saying he should have finished what he started. Some of you are just negative lovers, we all no things went wrong last year. This staff is loaded with guys that can coach football. If your not willing to give them a chance I suggest you turn in your orange. It's sickening the level of pointless negative drivel this board has turned into. It's not a reflection of the fan base, this fan base is behind the coach and staff. Reality check, Pruitt is here is too stay for a while so get on the wagon or GTFO!!!!GBO!!!!

Lulz.

Not hating brother, I just think its funny that if your instructions had been followed, Butch would still be here.

2 months vs 4 years. New coach vs veteran. Over ten years as a head coach vs O years as a head coach. Get real. I guess you expect instant championships before he has coached his first game.

Maybe he should just say nah, **** it, give me my buy out. That could work. It would make you happy.

You spent a lot of mental energy to write the above which says "I pissed". Once again, why are you guys so pissed off about a recruiting class ranking? What is it that has you so spun up?

Only thing I got so far is: I'm mad because well........BAMA SUCKS YEAH!

No facts, no figures, no evidence. One poster even made the statement that Kids (plural meaning more than one and in the context a lot) were decommitting by the droves. The only two that I could come up with were Grant and Young. Grant was a commit to Butch Jones and watched the epic meltdown. Didn't take much to swing him and Young was an expected flip. So I'm not thinking that him coaching at Bama hurt our class. I think him inheriting a steaming pile of **** organization hurt more than anything.

Do you have proof that CJP did? Do you have his cell phone records?

0-8 in the SEC. 4-8 on the season. Put yourself in the recruits shoes. Would you want to play for a losing team? Can't blame them for going elsewhere. WINNING will cure a lot of woes. We have GOT to win some games before recruits will start coming aboard. It's a catch 22 really. We need good players to win, but we can't get the elite players unless we win. It's a curse and a blessing to be in the SEC, the toughest conference in the nation. IMHO.
