Pruitt Should Apologize to Fans, the Team & Re-evaluate if He Still Wants to Be Coach

I’m not agreeing with OP but i have to ask myself what happened??? I’ve heard how hard it must be to assemble staff and recruit this late in the game and our new staff should be great it, well that didn’t happen for us but it did for FSU. Something doesn’t add up

We still got JJ Peterson (who was a Bama commit)

If you think we would have done better had he not being coaching, well that’s on you.

If he couldn't do better being fully committed to Ut rather than partially committed, then we are really screwed.

This recruit class is nosediving. Multiple misses already. “Sure things” flipping to other schools on NSD.

HUGE holes in the secondary and O-Line with little options to fill them. All while, Pruitt stayed at Alabama to coach in the playoffs—time that shouldve been spent working 100% on this recruit class and team.

Alabama benefits and at the same time sticks it to us twice: Pruitt helped them win another NC and it obviously negatively affected this years class and Pruitt’s ability to bring in talent.

Phil shares the blame in allowing him to coach an extra month at Alabama.

Overreact much?

Did you see how our coaching search went?!?!?!

We're lucky to even be Top 50 (slight hyperbole) at this point.

Right because bailing on your team before the playoffs and not coaching out the year sets a great example for future players. Give me a break. I like that he finished the Job at Bama, I hate coaches that jump ship before the bowl games. Here's a thought maybe the fact that UT is coming off the worse season in program history, another coaching change that was poorly done, not saying the coach is poor but the search was, and a AD change had something to do with the recruiting class not being elite. It's still a top 25 class, it could be way worse.

You can't just expect magic to happen after last year's situation.

He inherited a better situation than both Fooley and Botch did. And even those two snake oil salesmen pulled in better classes in year 1 (zero) than this guy who decided it was more important to coach our rival team for weeks after he “accepted” the job here.

Jokes on you too Bc he actually MADE you all cheer for Alabama.

Sickening.

We did. We let him coach TWO games. For our most hated rival. Bringing them ANOTHER NC.

All while you sheep were cheering for them and Pruitt not giving 100% for this team.

They should take the “I will give my all for TN” out of his office and the stadium until he actually means it.

Then why this the tired comment out there.

Who gives a crap if it was a dead period? It is not a legitimate reason to defend his staying at Bama.

Stupid post-Pruitt staying at Alabama and getting a another National Championship on his resume probably helped us more than hurt us for recruiting. It could have been worse.

You've never worked out a 2-week notice with an employer, have you?

All good points HOWEVER. I bet one of the stipulations was that he be allowed to coach Bama games until their season ended
You notice that we let Cut leave for Ole Piss and Sanders filled in and we still won
Also I wonder how much he made by double dipping? Paid by Tennessee and paid performance bonus by Alabama at the same time. I don't blame him for going for the bonus and for also not leaving the defensive players before their season ended

It keeps getting harder and harder to get on this site due to the seemingly large volume of moronic post such as this one.

Coach Pruitt will prove to be a very, very good coach, and he has gathered an outstanding staff.

He was brought in to clean up a train wreck, and his back was against the wall in recruiting this year.

He and his staff did an outstanding job. They did miss some, but in my opinion, some of the ones they missed have shown themselves to be lacking the character which Pruitt will require. We are most likely better off that they went elsewhere. Their physical talent cannot make up for their lack of respect.

The Walker display was one very good example. Yes, he is a kid, but 18 years old is old enough to know how to act respectful.

We will be fine, and Pruitt and staff will do great. I just hate that they have to have some "fans" who make statements such as this.

The rest of us will be cheering for our Vols, even when a small group sits around trying to think up ways to be negative. Apparently they have plenty of time to do it.

Would be interesting to know just how successful they are, or have been in their lives. My bet would be, not so good.

The only "sure thing" will be more clickbait articles attracting you with bright and shiny "sure things". "Prognosticators" always try to sell the long shot because the outrageous always attracts - the same thinking that sells the lotteries.

Were you one of the ones who supported Jones getting "more time"? I honestly don't remember. But if you are... you have nothing to say about THIS except... "It was a mistake not to recognize Jones wasn't up to the job much earlier".
