Puffy Combs' son gets UCLA scholarship; People upset about it

Why? So he can just hand over something that he earned on his own merits and ride on his daddy's back? The kid earned it and expecting to do anything other than claim his reward for hard work would be wrong imo.

Why not Puffy, P-Diddy, or Sean Combs whatever you want to call him got several handouts to achieve his stardom. He could finally repay to the community.

FWIW, I don't think any players should get athletic scholarships paid for at Florida or Alabama, no matter how rich or poor.

Sean Combs has nothing to do with his son in this instance. His son has earned this on his own merit.

Im saying his daddys name gave him an edge. I hope he has to compete instead of being put on field over more qualified while he gets free ride and his daddy gets to stand on sidelines unlike other players parents. All this while Diddy gives no money.

No, he is very qualified to receive the athletic scholarship, I can promise you that. Diddy shouldnt have to give a cent if his son EARNS this scholarship, which he did. Why does Diddy owe anyone anything?

No way this guy is serious. :eek:lol:

There are a ton of people who are upset with this, I look at it as a sort of reverse entitlement. Just because you have money doesnt mean you are prevented from being eligible for scholarships (especially ones that are not of a need basis) if you earn them. To suggest that just because you have some money, you should just give up something that your son has earned is borderline retarded.

He earned it, he deserves it. From the articles I've read, he is a good student and never got in any trouble, to boot. Sounds like he should be a true 3* with 5* heart. And I mean that...

Exactly.

3+ GPA and he has the athletic talent to warrant a schlorship to UCLA. Yet he is unworthy of said scholarship because his daddy can afford it.

Really?

WTF? Learn what you are talking about and quit talking out of your ass before posting. Have you seen his film? If you had you would see that he is very deserving of this scholarship. Will he be an all american? Probably not, but he will likely be a solid college player. Just because his dad is famous does not mean that he does not have the ability to earn anything on his own merit.

He earned it and deserves it. Not like his daddy cant make a generous donation much larger than what the scholly would be worth.

Not exactly like UCLA is setting the world on fire right now..

Anyhow, I wouldn't be surprised to see Diddy set up some sort of need-based scholarship for UCLA while his son is there.
