Racism

i would unquestionably rather be a black person in my current job. is that the question?
no... the question was given the same qualifications going in for a job interview in an unregulated business world, would you rather be black or white?

no because answering thekicker's question is stupid since he can't answer back. No need to reply to trolls like him
i'm not thekicker..... it's an honest question that many don't like the answer to since it causes government intervention

never said you were just pointing out why thekicker's posts don't get replies anymore. It's worthless

what do you mean by unregulated? my current company has no mandate by the gov't to hire or promote minorities.

if i'm in a world without politics, i very much doubt my skin color is still a factor (black or white). currently my employee promotes minorities (and in particular women) primarily because they are afraid of being sued for discrimination (due to a bs discrimination suit that got levied against them 10 years ago).

free of government intervention on EVERYTHING... Hire who you want based solely on qualifications

Then color does not matter. Stupid question! You wonder why no one answered when it was asked the first time.

Then....drosk answers and you reword.....give it up

Some people on this thread have proven my point on who are more obsessed with race. It doesn't matter race/sex/etc if the person is qualified for the job. If someone is UNqualified, it is not the job of gubbmint to level the playing field.

Your in a minority, if you choose to be. You could just be an American if you wanted to. It's all about attitude. :good!:

Note: I am not insulting you, as a person.

However, that has to be one of the dumbest things I've read in my entire life, and I read lawsuits by prisoners every week, so that's saying a lot.

Racism is stupid, but if you live in America, you should speak English.

I happen to agree with you. But I also think that the people who are really bothered by it and want it to become law in reality use English only as a proxy for something a bit more malevolent.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I just think it's annoying when you call an American company and the person answering phones doesn't even talk English fluently.

100 percent agree. But you assume that the person that is answering is in the U.S., an assumption that is very often incorrect.

Never knew that. That makes absolutely no sense though. Why not send the call to an American city?

I would say in a lot of cases skin color has no bearing whatsoever. But you can't tell me,skin color doesn't play a factor in SOME cases.... Look at the lack of minority head coaches/owners in professional sports in the U.S. despite a majority of the players being black. Seems to be something wrong there.

And he really didn't answer the question. He said race wouldn't matter if there were no government intervention. Again, not always the case.

So I ask in 100 percent of the cases when going in for an interview with equal qualifications, would you rather be black or white??? NOBODY has answered that. The answer is white or black.. it's as simple as that.

I mean, I love the fact that people think race doesn't play a part anymore when it comes to business. To me, that shows a ton of progress in a short amount of time (50 or so years). But to think it's still not an issue to some people making the hire is foolish, IMO.

The answer would be black where I work.

So, people should just go with the standard, instead of striving to get past skin color?? That's all I am saying there LG. If you choose to make skin color an issue, you will always fall into that "Woe is me' trap. It's really THAT simple.

I'll grant you this, it's going to be an issue regardless of the color of the person doing the hiring. Some of the most racist people I have met, for example, are fro Asia.

Being a player in the league no way means you have what it takes to be successful owner, it is a totally different set of skills that are needed. Owning a team is big business and very, very few players in any league have the knowledge, understanding and skills required to run a team successfully regardless of skin color.

I won't pretend that the lack of minority doesn't appear to be a problem but I will say that once again being a player doesn't mean you have the skills required to be a successful coach.

The problem is so much random crap gets attributed to racism at times. People often make the race issue when there is simply no reason, too. The media made about 39420304293 too many references to Obama being the first black president during the campaign trail in 2008. I'm pretty sure we could all tell.

haven't i answered black at least 3 times?
