I want to acknowledge that call as BS. That's the type of call that's gone against us for years now. It's about time we caught a break. However, before any gamecocks start spouting off that it is the reason they lost, they need to realize we got screwed when the long pass to Blanc to the 3 yd line was called incomplete. He got control of the ball with one foot in bounds. Those calls are a wash. We out played USCjr and that is indisputable. Great defensive game planning by our coaches, for once we out smarted the old ball coach. It's refreshing to know we don't have to have more talent than the other team to beat them anymore. Go Vols and thanks for the best Sunday morning cup of coffee I've had in years!

OOOOOPS, after further review.....hours after the original post.........^^^^^
Ive reviewed the play and I was wrong. Neal did pitch the ball towards Worley. Still very lucky on our part.

Granted my view was from the jumbotron replays, but Neal clearly passed the ball and you could watch the ball sliding down with no control of it in your other example. I thought both calls were right. In the Neal instance I wanted to know why he was doing that.

It is concerning he didn't have the wits about him to just hold on to the ball and take the loss of yardage. Could have gone a lot worse.

Yes, what was he trying to do flinging the ball forward like that, and why didn't anyone block Clowney, don't they know that he is really good, and you must block him every play? I'm still scratching my head regarding that play.

1) It was a forward pass. A forward pass doesn't have to "look" like a traditional forward pass, i.e. a Utah pass.

2) It was Blanc not Carter, and yes, he was bobbling it while his foot stepped out of bounds. Good call.

Yea, how many times have the ball carriers retained the ball, let alone their helmets, when Clowney gets a free pass into the backfield like that?

And for you fellows out there who say it was a actual play, Rajion just saw Clowney coming and tried throwing it at Worleys feet to save the yardage. Bad idea, but it worked.

Uhm... every other time he was in the backfield yesterday since we whiffed on him multiple times?

1). It was obviously a forward pass.

2). It's one of the worst ideas I've ever seen.

He bobbled it initially but gained control of the ball with one foot in bounds. It was more of a catch than the North TD catch in last weeks game was.

I would wonder if this was the called play originally? Hand off to Neal, then he passes it forward to Worley? Curious to see what Butch Jones says about it.

The replays I saw had him still bobbling it as one foot is out of bounds.

I felt 100% it was incomplete after the initial replay but after they slowed it down it was clear to me it was a catch. There was alcohol involved but I feel good about my opinion. :)

If that was a called pitch back to Worley, then why wasn't Worley looking back for the ball?
