Rajon's "forward pass"

I think it was a trick play that looked like the defender may have blown up. RN should have held on to the ball. We were fortunate on that one. Kind of looked like he was going to get it back to the QB for a pass.

Call it what u want to but at least acknowledge the fact that its the type of call that generally goes against us. Had it been called a fumble I don't think it would have even been challenged by our coaches as an incomplete pass. By the way, it's a lot easier to have this conversation with a W in our pocket.
Maybe, but it was definitely a forward pass. The refs were all over that one.

1) It was a forward pass. A forward pass doesn't have to "look" like a traditional forward pass, i.e. a Utah pass.

2) It was Blanc not Carter, and yes, he was bobbling it while his foot stepped out of bounds. Good call.

Blanc made three steps before going out of bounds. He had the ball lodged between his legs with both hands on the ball. Had he fell over the goaline it would have been ruled a TD. For it to be ruled a TD, the goaline is treated just as the out of bounds line. He didn't have it secured on the first two steps, but the third he has it lodged between his legs and had two hands on it when going to the ground.

Just watched the replay, I stand corrected. Neal was definitely pitching the ball towards Worley. Still lucky on our part.

I want to acknowledge that call as BS. That's the type of call that's gone against us for years now. It's about time we caught a break. However, before any gamecocks start spouting off that it is the reason they lost, they need to realize we got screwed when the long pass to Blanc to the 3 yd line was called incomplete. He got control of the ball with one foot in bounds. Those calls are a wash. We out played USCjr and that is indisputable. Great defensive game planning by our coaches, for once we out smarted the old ball coach. It's refreshing to know we don't have to have more talent than the other team to beat them anymore. Go Vols and thanks for the best Sunday morning cup of coffee I've had in years!

It was a forward pass, and the other pass was incomplete.

Neal should have just taken with the loss the refs we had yesterday could have easily called that a fumble especially since they failed to called pass interference on the North catch.

If you re watch the play it's obvious that Worley was actually trying to keep the ball, Neal ripped it out ..on the zone read he took it from him instead if riding it Into the hole....when he saw how open it was for the run he tried to toss it back to justin...awful play all around

For once an SEC ref got a call right on that forward pass, unlike the Cody Blanc catch at the 3. That is why I HATE replay. They watch it 10 times & STILL get it wrong as much as they get it right.

Not many agree that it was a catch, like you......I'm sure it was.
