Ramar Smith

LSU has a senior at point, but didn't at the start of the year. Tack Minor was their first option at the point. Who knows? Maybe Bradshaw will be that senior.

Tack was the starter until he blew the knee. he just got a medical redshirt for this year. Now Temple runs the point with Mitchell playing SG most of the time. They get a few minutes from Voogd but they are usually not quality. He doesn't handle pressure too well. Mitchell does have a calming effect on the team espcially when he can hit a few 3s. We have Lofton for that!

Saw in the Chattanooga today that Ramar Smith said someone at UT had talked bad about him and he would have to think about what they said. Lol, I'm not sure we even want this guy running the point.

I read that too.

When Smith said Tennessee were talking bad about him, I think he was talking about Vol67.

I don't see how V67's comment was talking bad about him. Looks more like a prediction to me. I think V67 is playing the better of the odds.

I won't bother rehashing my position on Dane being a primary ballhandler.

Lofton needs to elevate his game and become the primary ball handler/pg. thats his best shot at the nba, he should want to make the move. let bradshaw play the 2 guard.

Why would you want a guy playing the two who can't shoot?

Not if Wingate plays the way he did this year

I did not see Wingate play much at all this year, and I know he struggled. But he was a beast defensively in the Witchita State game--very impressive. I think he intimidated the Shocker center, who was that conference's player of the year. Physically, Wingate reminds me a bit of Ben Wallace. But it's also apparent that Wingate's offensive skills are quite limited, and for his size, he's a pretty mediocre rebounder. Good teams have two tough/talented players in the paint, so why not play Chism and Wingate? It's a good thing to have a muscular defensive stopper inside.

no way lofton in any way could be a point guard. Did anyone see that the ESPN mock draft has Wingate going in the 2nd round for the 2006-2007 draft? Must have only watched the NCAA tournament.

:bump3: big weekend for the vols and hopefully a future vol in ramar smith. come on bruce lets cap off a great year with another big prospect

Yeah, we should have quite a few coming in. Not only will Ramar be in, but Duke Crews is coming in to hang out with him. Coming with those two is Cameron Tatum. This could be a good weekend. Something must be up because one guy that isn't coming in is Jarvis Hill. Either Pearl feel that we are gonna get Ramar(or hes committed to them) or they would rather have Tatum.

Well, now the weekend might not be as big. Not only is it a strong possibility that we've dropped Hill, but now Ramar might not be coming. He seems to want to come but won't confirm it and may be having a family issue that will prevent him from coming. As for Tatum, he really wants to come to UT but we haven't offered him and there is no guarantee that we are even that interested in him. We may end up not taking any in this spring class.

Brent Hubbs is about to confirm that Ramar Smith is in town. This is potentially huge.

Tony Jones and Scott Edgar were at the baseball game tonight, along with Bruce Pearl who threw the 1st pitch. There was what appeared to be a recruit with them, but I am not sure who it was. Anyone have any idea? Was it Smith?
