Does anyone like sour kraut? I love it, during the winter I eat it atleast once a week, sometimes i fry or grill smoked sausage links and then add the kraut to the frying pan with onions and simmer, then put on a bun with sausage .
my favorite way is smoked kielbasa or pan seared , carmelized onions on top of the kraut in a glass dish then add sliced kielbasa and bake at 350 for 20 minutes uncovered , enjoy with spicy mustard and a beer.

What ways other than that do y'all like it?
I found really good sour kraut in the European food section at Kroger , it comes in a barrel shaped jar, it's the best, next to boars head.

A blast from the past! I haven't had sauerkraut in a good while, thanks for reminding me! My mom used to make it with Kielbasa. I can't remember if she used the jar/can or bought it in a bag.

Isn't that pretty much tofu?

Soy bean based but very different. Tofu has a more gelatin-like consistency before it's cooked. Tempeh is kind of nutty and it's kind of grainy and non-smooth. I can't think of something with a similar texture... maybe close to sausage. Tofu is pretty much without flavor whereas tempeh has a flavor.

It's funny you brought this up. Just last week I took about 2.5 lbs of Polish sausage from a local butcher, 2 lbs of Kraut, a 16 oz Budweiser, a little water, and knob of butter. Let it all simmer for about 3 hours....:good!:

I hadn't thought about the simmering.
I know the actual recipe isn't made public but I'd love to get a hold of a really close copycat recipe.

My wife found a copycat and it is pretty good.
I posted wrong recipe, here is the one my wife uses.

Skylike Chili - Skyline Chili Copycat Recipe - Food.com

She only uses 2-3 cups of beef broth to make a thicker chili and she boils ground beef and drains water - this gives finer consistency and less grease.

I actually like the mix better then you can make it any consistency you want.

Never had it but I really like board head sauces and spreads , they have a 2thousand island spread for a Reuben that's great

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Seemingly, nobody south of the Mason-Dizon Line knows true Russian dressing.

I've REALLY been enjoying some Earl Grey iced tea lately. I've had Earl Grey tea before but it's always been regular hot tea. I've come to find out that when you brew this tea and pour it over ice it really brings out so many more flavors. It's pretty awesome actually. Just brew a 4 ounce serving of it, fill a regular 16oz heat resistant glass/cup with ice and pour the tea in, sweeten to taste.
