He is just that good. Not my favorite blues guitarist, but a big overall favorite. I have an EC sig Strat that's about 20 years old. Santana is always good. Europa is one of my all time favorites. It's different for everyone. Lots call BB King the King of blues and the best. I wouldn't pay $5 to see him.

I don't like watching Clapton play for some reason. I do enjoy King. Who is your favorite blues guitarist?

But the question is this, if you were in your twenties and could go see him in a black blues club in Memphis free, would you sit on the stage under the piano and rock out?

Don't have a single favorite. SRV played some good blues.
Albert King
Leadbelly
T Bone Walker
Gatemouth Brown
Buddy Guy
Mississippi John

I could run off another 30-40 names. Most you might not have heard of.

Only if a squirrel joined me under the piano! Reminds me, we'll have to swap another story soon.

Go ahead.

i never get tired of that video. One of the best from Crossroads. And, yeah, I do like BB in that one. I guess I like him more the older I get. I just think he got a lot of attention that should have gone to a few others.
I understand that. Back in the day a lot of the rock generation adopted him but I don't think that was his fault. He was just doing his thing and a whole bunch of rockers appreciated his gig.

Go ahead.

Jimmy Reed
Chuck Berry
Elmore James
HOwlin' Wolf
Robert Johnson
Keb' Mo'
SRV, in case I didn't mention him
Little Walter
Muddy Waters
Taj Mahal
Hound Dog Taylor
Robert Cray
Johnny Copeland
Johnny Winters
Lonny Brooks
Albert Collins
Blind Willie McTell
Bonnie Raitt
Guitar Shorty
Gary Moore
Robin Trower
Big Bill Broonzy

OK, brain is tired.

I know. The more I read now about back then, I am starting to get it. He and Chuck were gods to many.

Anything. I finger pick a few songs=Alices's Restaurant, Stagger Lee, Malaguena etc, do some ZZ Top, play some Eagles, I've played the Joe Walsh Funk 49 since it was released, I do some Pure Prairie League, Marshall Tucker, Heart, Skynyrd, a lot of Willie, etc. Just a mixed bunch of stuff. I do some Gilmour Pink Floyd. Not the hard stuff though. He's incredible. I go acoustic and electric. And, Bob Dylan, of course.
