A time or two.Anyone else ever have a day work that is so sh!!ty that everything else makes you mad for the rest of the day? Like today when I was mad at the sun for shining in my face while driving home.
Seriously, why do you have these horrendous hours? Did they lay off an assistant when Covid started, or have you always been on the clock since moving to Miami?
But it seems like this has been going on for many, many months. “First day off in...” etc.It is like this every holiday season. Plus, one of my assistants was out from Thanksgiving until last night. That didn't help.
When I lived in Napa I would get a hotel room in Berkeley for two or three weeks so I wouldn't have to drive back and forth.

Sorry, this sounds nosy. But geeze, your schedule sounds awful!
Workaholics need our own support group, besides the poor 9 to 5’ers. Lol. I get that quite a lot. Can’t imagine how you feel. Always try to take time for yourself, and push down the guilt for doing so (I have that also). Nothing wrong with escaping it for just a moment, helps to keep your mind focused (I’m sure you already knew that).Well yeah, this year is different. We rolled out a new WMS system September 1, and it did not go smoothly. Combine that with a huge increase in business when the shutdowns began and it was perfect storm.
Plus, I always work too much.
It took me forever to establish an “I’m off” line. Retired over a year, and I still have work dreams.Workaholics need our own support group, besides the poor 9 to 5’ers. Lol. I get that quite a lot. lolMy mind would self destruct, if and when I get to the retired phase of my golden years. I hope you kept the pamphlet to share, I promise to put you in a good home.

I always had a 5 year plan, starting in my early 50’s. It’s leaving it to the ones I know will just screw it up.lol
You’ll be AMAZED how quickly you figure it out!
But you should definitely come up with a few diversions (beside VN) before you pull the plug. I go through 1+ books a day (God bless our libraries) and deal with the garden, either as it currently exists, or planning out next year. Plus sippin’ on sumpin’ on the front porch or back deck. Tai Chi is on the to-do list.
I was very happy to hand things over to the next-down generation. While knowing they would screw it all up, lol. But seriously, once I hit my number (retirement savings), I was perfectly happy to get out of the way and hand it to someone who needed the $$$.
I worked with a former Army MSGT who told me about his Desk Book. It contained absolutely everything anyone would need to know if they had to suddenly step in (as in he goes ka-boom.) Over thunk it. Usually what happens when you try to simplify it for them. LolI worked with a former Army MSGT who told me about his Desk Book. I prepared the same thing for both of my last two posts and told supervisor and co-workers what was there and where to find it. Judging from all the phone calls I got after leaving, no one bothered to look. View attachment 333097
Eejits, everywhere you look; eejits.
@NorCalVol67 Any recommendations for an NZ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc? The new boyfriend (DD#2’s, not mine) is Aussie and loves these.
I bought some Costco (!) Marlborough SV and didn’t really like it, but I don’t know if all have that tart tropical fruit thing going on, or if it’s just the Kirkland magic.
Anyway, something in the $15-20 retail range. #ProudToBeCheap. Any thoughts are welcome! —thx
Thanks! This is new territory for me.They are generally pretty tropical and can be grassy as well.
Craggy Range, Nautilus, Allan Scott, Dog Point, Yealands. Kim Crawford is a big producer and they may think of it like they do Foster's, but I like it also.
