What was it you had replaced?Anyone else ever have weird olfactory flashbacks? Lately, I've been having flashbacks to the smells of the hospital when I was in there for my transplant. Weirding me out and I don't like it.
No @Souce , no one wants to hear about you smelling your farts.
Yes, no equivalent of dialysis for end-stage liver failure. It’s pretty much transplant or RIP.The list is based off of need. When I reached the top of the list, things moved fairly quickly. I had a new liver within two weeks. That was 5 years ago.
Ok, I’ll confess, made me look. I feared that they had worn flesh-colored unitards or something. Thankfully, no:the brothers in their nudie suit glory
It was. I went through a host of problems after transplant. But I think I would have recovered a lot better over time if not for falling and breaking my back 5 months after my transplant. It wasn't even a bad fall, but they think the steroids post transplant had probably weakened my bones. Back hasn't been the same since. I can only walk like 10-15 minutes before the pain forces me to sit. Been to doctors, but nothing has really helped. And they don't want to put me on any long-term pain meds because they could harm the liver. Tylenol is all I'm allowed to take on a regular basis, and even that is limited to no more than 2000mg a day. Not that it really helps.Yes, no equivalent of dialysis for end-stage liver failure. I’m glad they were able to get you a match, although I know that post-transplant can be pretty brutal.
Yeah, chronic pain just sucks, especially when anything that might help is too risky. It must be hard to keep your head up sometimes. I’m sorry. It was. brother in law had one about 20 years ago, hard to believe it was that long ago, have heard about the pain, manIt was. I went through a host of problems after transplant. My dad died from liver cancer a year before my transplant. I was actually diagnosed with cirrhosis before him, but his turned into cancer whereas mine did not. And he wasn't a candidate for transplant because of his age and other health issues. In some ways, I carry survivor's guilt because I made it through, and he did not. Honestly, that made it a lot tougher. My sister went quick when the cancer moved to her liver. The worst death I have seen.
Tylenol is what is bad for the liver. And that is the hardest thing on a liver when taking percocet it's the Tylenol in it that is bad on your liver. If you are in bad pain there should be something they can give you that would help and wouldn't hurt your liver as bad as Tylenol does.It was. I went through a host of problems after transplant. Advil is even worse. So Tylenol is it. But like I said, how much I can take is limited.Tylenol is what is bad for the liver.
