Rank Our Rivalries !!!

1. Alabama

2. Florida (Divisional play and Spurrier years certainly moved them way up the list.)

3. Georgia (Divisional play and recruiting turf)

1. Bama. Can't stand them and they will always be #1....and with Kiffy boy there...enough said!
2. Georgia. I live in Chattanooga....on the Ga state line....that is to close for me. Sick of hearing about the dogs. Should have beat them last year....got to beat them asap to shut up the puppies!
3.Florida. And only because they are an east rival. I think we finally win this year. But for me this does't come at all close to Bama and Georgia.

Born in '81. Here's mine:

1. Florida - Lately, we've almost been their Kentucky. They're on their second head coach in a row that we haven't beaten.
2. Bama - The only thing that puts them behind Florida right now IMO, is that we usually win when we have the better team, which hasn't been the case with Florida.
3. Georgia - Border state. Key recruiting battle. Most annoying fans IMO.
4. Vanderbilt - Gotta keep'em where they belong: the SEC cellar.

Bama - 1. Auburn, 2. Tennessee, 3. LSU
Florida - 1. Florida State, 2. Georgia, 3. Tennessee
Georgia - 1. Auburn, 1. Georgia Tech, 1. Tennessee, 1. Florida. They seem to hate us all equally. But I think Auburn and Tech get the historical edge.
Kentucky - 1. Lousville, 2. Tennessee
Vandy - 1. Tennessee

Fla... without beating them, we dont make it to the SEC championship game... or at least thats how it used to be... then bama... i hope all those inbred jerks burn in hell....i dont give two craps about a bulldog or a wildkitten..

Did Florida State and Miami stop playing football?

I know I am in the minority on this, but since I am a little old school.....Auburn would surpass Tennessee as well.

Florida would probably have us behind FSU too.

And you left Auburn off of Georgia's.

We'd also likely be ahead of LSU as far as Alabama goes.

Totally agree except for LSU. I only say that because its usually the winner going to the SECCG, so that would mean more to them

I'll be that guy...we haven't had a rivalry in a decade. sorry volnation. we have to compete to make it a rivalry.

1. Bama (no question)
2. Florida (after the split) Auburn (before the split)
3. Georgia
4. Georgia Tech (before they left the conference)/South Carolina
5. Vandy (they should at least win 5 every 20 years for is to be considered a rivalry
6. Kentucky ( 1 win in 25 years doesn't a rivalry make)
7. Missouri (not long enough)

And what's your point? I guess you didn't read the rest of the post? I think you cherrypicked what you wanted to read.

Vandy hates Tennessee and they think we are rivals. Tennessee beats up on Vandy all the time, and doesn't think that we are "rivals" ... at least IMO. I don't consider them a rival.

Florida doesn't consider Tennessee a real "rival" and thinks we suck. They always seem to beat us, but look at VN. They all think Florida is one of our biggest rivals.

So again, what is your point?

Their players consider UT their second biggest rival in the SEC behind Georgia. FSU is their biggest rival by far.

1. Alabama
2. Florida
3. Georgia
4. South Carolina (This is a very recent addition to the list that stems from their ascendance and our decline as a program; I am hopeful that the significance of this particular rivalry goes back to what it was prior to Steve Spurrier's arrival.)

It will never go back. South Carolina is now not your grand daddys South Carolina. Get used to it.:dance2:

Since like 1971, we've beaten Florida one more time than Vandy has beaten us...
We didn't start playing Florida every year until 1990, so the rivalry isn't as lopsided as Vandy's record is with us. Our record vs UF is horrible, just not Vandy bad.

Like some on here have said, I think it comes down to what generation you are as a fan. For the older people, I would say 35 and up, it would be Alabama. For the younger crowd, it would most likely be Florida, albeit with a few exceptions threw in there. For me, I am 42, and Alabama will always be my most hated team ever. Florida and Georgia being a far distant 2nd, only because the way to the SECEast, has to beat at least 1 or both of those teams.

1. Bama (No question...even though it's been extremely lopsided the last few years. I've even heard bama fans say they want this rivalry to be competitive again).
2. UF (More so in the 90s and early 2000s with the ole ball coach but Florida is a team every Volunteer loves to hate. And they used to be the one team you had to beat to win the east....obviously not the case anymore).
3. Vandy (Wanted to put UGA here but who doesn't love an in-state rivalry? With their recent "success" and some of our worst years in program history, they have become a team I almost hate more than Florida. I could be a little biased because I live in Nashville and they love to run their mouths to UT fans).

Like others have said, I think it all depends on what generation fan you are. I may get flamed for this and may be alone, but I'd personally love to a rivalry ignited with Mizzou although I really don't see it happening. Sometimes I wish we had an out of conference in state rival like UF-FSU, USC-Clemson, etc. I know we had one with Memphis for awhile but it never really felt like a true rivalry to me. All JMO...carry on VN.

Famous last words

Spurrier goes, you go bye

Enjoy it while you can

He's grooming Steve Spurrier, Jr for the job, and he's no dummy, he graduated from Duke. This didn't work out for Bowden when he tried it at FSU, let's see how it works out at SC.
