McConnell blocked a resolution calling for release of the full report.
GOPers on the House committee are making the same argument about grand jury testimony, which is fine. But the Dems are saying no problem, let's us and Barr make a joint motion to a district court judge to let it be released -- let a judge decide whether it needs to be kept secret.
Barr and the GOP are refusing to cooperate in that simple step, which would cure the problem.
The bottom line is this: Right now, the ONLY basis for reaching ANY conclusion about what is in the Mueller report is what Barr says is in it. His summary. But he has backed off of that and says it is not a summary. And he has changed in mid-stream the criteria he originally announced for what to redact. That is a VERY odd move by him and seems to be appointing himself the fianl and complete arbiter of what we see.
Unacceptable.
Barr's non-summary summary may well turn out to be accurate and we can all move on from this, as Trump and his team are begging us to do. But as long as anything less than the full report is in any way meaningfully produced to the public and Congress, the Dems are not going to give up trying to see it. And they absolutely should not give up on seeing it and learning of its full contents.
Why don't you and your fellow Dems stop with the childish theatrics and blatant lies until Barr releases the redacted report. After we see how much is redacted THEN pitch your hissy fits. As far as the GJ testimony goes, sure I'd love to see it but you supposedly being a lawyer know the dangers of releasing GJ testimony.
