i just wanted to get everyone's attention. As all of you know, our future vols get on here and can see what people are saying. CBJ is working on bringing us back. These are not his players. I have 100% faith in him. We have to trust him. If we are bashing him on here the recruits are gonna read it and could possibly leave after reading all the negative bull sh_t. We all knew that this year was gonna be tough, REALLY tough. We just have to trust CBJ. How into our tradition was Kif or Dooley? This guy is in it to win it. I just want to keep the top 5 recruiting class that we currently have. Negavols bash away. Supporters, help me out! GO BIG ORANGE!!

You could have made your point without that crappy thread title.

My only criticisms are that he's too stubborn regarding the freshmen. I could understand it if Worley was even an average SEC QB, but he's proven to be an average Sun Belt QB, at best.

If neither Freshmen have any juice then either they cannot coach/develop and/or evaluate talent. We have had true freshmen start in the past (Peyton, Casey, Ainge and Schaeffer), so it's bitterly frustrating when it appears to us fans that he's not even giving either of them a chance to show what they have. They can't prove jack squat with very limited 2-3rd team reps in practice.

The other criticism I have is that this team has 3 WR's...all 4* recruits (so they aren't scrubs)...that are 6'4" to 6'5" and they rarely use all that size. Harris is sitting over on the sideline. Can't use that size sitting on the bench.

While I agree that recruits read this board, the coaches' recruiting prowess and the product on the field will determine who signs with us in February.

Also, I think Twitter and Facebook have far greater potential for negative effects.

Honestly, I question the mental faculties of recruits who would allow a message board to affect a decision so important.

I think you have to take into consideration the fact that the current commits know that we are a struggling team that went 5-7 last year, and understand that we have new coaches and new schemes. I doubt they expected us to go undefeated, or to beat teams like Florida and Oregon; that's partly why they are all so hyped to come to UT-- to build a legacy. They each spout #VFL and #BrickByBrick, because they want to come in to this sinking ship, patch it up, and get it not just floating, but gliding across the water, to the forefront of the armada with the S.S. Tide and the U.S.S. Bulldawg. Our abysmal season is just going to make them want to come here more, like one of those, "Enough is enough" mentalities. Think about it: Playing time in your first year (unless you're a QB), and you'll go down in Vols history as part of "the rekindling of a long-burning and bright fire."

Actually there are a few of these guys who are his guys. If you will recall, he brought some of the guys that he was recruiting at Cincinnati to Tennessee.

I believe he will get this program turned around with the right players and the support of this fan base.

Eventually!!!

We are 3-2 through 5 games? Judging by the tone on here you would think we lost all 5 by landslide...

I am a Dolphins fan. For those of you who don't watch pro football, my pro team has had 2 winning seasons in the last 10. One of those was a 1-15, and yet I still wore my hat on Sundays and Mondays.

3-2?

You people freakin kill me with this negative attitude all the time. Why don't we just call up the other 7 teams on our schedule and just forfeit now?

Would that make you bastards happy? I know for a damn fact that it wouldn't make me happy. I have been watching this team for the last 24 years of my life and I will be damned if I will give up on them or their coaching staff because they didn't crush a team by 20 or more points like a bunch of people thought they would.

Get over yourselves you pompous asses

1. You're not the coach so you don't make team related decisions.

2. You didn't hire the coach so you don't dictate to him how to do his job.

3. People like you wanted him to start Peterman, he did and. . . .

4. Tennessee was allowed to drop down to the lowest level of them totem pole. Beginning with a coach who "loves" the UT but just got plain lazy.

5. CBJ didn't recruit the bulk of the players on the team, including the QB. Except Peterman while he was at the UC. Unhooking NP from past mis-coaching or whatever it is, requires something other than a magic wand.

6. Worley isn't innocent. he throws balls into the ground the way pre-Kiffin Crompton did. he over throws receivers. BUT BUT BUT, most of his misses come from the receivers dropping the *&^R%#@^&()(_)__&^ ball!!!! Again and again. Even when he throws it and the ball is actually licking the WRs hands and wagging it tail to be patted and held. They drop the balls. Unfortunately, JW isn't allowed to call FEDEX, UPS, or DHL to hand deliver the balls to the WRs

I didn't read your post. I just liked it because of your avatar.

It's a new system for every player including the Seniors. They have only been running it for a few months now. It's going to take time and better QB play for sure. We need speed on D and two of our best DL are out. We need more depth for sure. Two more top 5 recruiting classes and we will be there.

How bout showing some restraint and not starting a thread about these so-called decommits? Seems like you are planting that in their subconscious to begin with. May we blame the OP if people start going elsewhere?

With a team that may have won it's last game these recruits just see quick playing time and not going to decommit. They understand fan unrest with a program that has not been for 5 years.

Recruits see an opportunity to play immediately at a traditionally strong program that is on it's way back to the top. Many HS players want to be a part of this.

When Peyton, Casey and Ainge/Schafer started as freshmen, they had talent every around them. Its a completely different animal to throw a freshman to to the wolves with no one around him to help out.

We are a sacrificial fan base, and have been for a while. That said, this will end up like Simms/Bray in 2010, and one of the freshman will end up starting the rest of the season after Bama.
