i just wanted to get everyone's attention. As all of you know, our future vols get on here and can see what people are saying. CBJ is working on bringing us back. These are not his players. I have 100% faith in him. We have to trust him. If we are bashing him on here the recruits are gonna read it and could possibly leave after reading all the negative bull sh_t. We all knew that this year was gonna be tough, REALLY tough. We just have to trust CBJ. How into our tradition was Kif or Dooley? This guy is in it to win it. I just want to keep the top 5 recruiting class that we currently have. Negavols bash away. Supporters, help me out! GO BIG ORANGE!!

Poor choice for a thread title if you are trying to be positive.

The commits are also watching the coaching being done during games. Like me, they didn't see much coaching in the second half. The OC made no adjustments and the DC got out coached. Horrible display of coaching in the second half. Seven points is unacceptable against a team that lost to University of Southern Utah.

Thread is garbage. CBJ and staff just like every other staff in college football will be selling themselves and their program to recruits, if a recruit decides to sign with TN or not it will be because they are either buying what CBJ and staff are selling or they're not, it will not be what a very small portion of a fanbase is typing on a message board.

How so? Coaches will have an off week to prepare one of them for the job in the near future. If they can't design an offense around them in that time frame, then we may have the wrong coaches on the sideline after all.
I'm shocked you said that... they had all summer!

here:

When Peyton, Casey and Ainge/Schafer started as freshmen, they had talent all around them. Its a completely different animal to throw a freshman to to the wolves with no one around him to help out.

So, we play Worley the next two years, and let those guys sit?

no. We get more talent around them and more time to become the leaders of the team during the offseason instead of ruining their psyche by making them play on an extremely crappy team.

Obviously, if Butch felt they were ready, he would be playing them. They aren't, the team isn't any good and there's no use to start them now just to prepare for next season when most of the O-line will be gone and the receivers still don't even know how to complete their routes.

These recruits aren't stupid. Most of them are pretty damn mature. Poke fun at their maturity level by talking about Twitter all you want but that's just part of their culture today.

They are smart enough to realize that after years of bad coaching, going 5-7 last year and after losing an NFL QB, an NFL TE and 2 NFL WRs, we're not going to be very good thos year - no matter who the coach is.

That's why they committed - to help get us back.

Face it guys, Worley is our sacrificial lamb this year. Just like Simms was at one point.

CBJ is playing several freshman.....incoming class should be excited about playing time.

We will have the same players, save the O-line, next year as this year, so saying we will put more talent around them isn't exactly the case. Butch is going to try and win games this year, and it looks like Ferg is going to be groomed for the last part of the season. Worley is just terrible, and keeping him in the rest of the season is the last thing Jones should do. At some point, Ferg will be playing, its just a matter of time.

I have found that playing time isn't that important to recruits. How many top ranked recruits opt to go to bama to sit on the bench year in and year out? I don't understand it but it happens all of the time.

we have what appears to be a loaded recruiting class coming in, and those receivers will have a year of understanding this system. They won't be the same. Why put Ferg out there when he doesn't know what he's doing and neither does the rest of the offense? Instead how about letting the other offensive playmakers get seasoned and we give the most important piece of the system the time to actually study and understand the system instead of throwing him out there for automatic losses against teams we can beat and wind up going bowling with?

I just don't see us going bowling with Worley. Jones is going to have to put one of the freshman out there, and if we don't win then, at least they have 3 more years to prove they can win.

Until they go out, pull a Peterman and never recover. That's a great idea. And whichever one isn't picked to be the future transfers to get playing time elsewhere.

If they want to play then there is playing time available here. Can't be more obvious than what were seeing on the field.
