Real reason why Bama at #6

Nah, the real reason is because the committee hopes USC and TCU loses, so they can get Bama in.
and look at Alabamas grand wins this year, beat 21st Texas by 1 point which is no longer ranked, then 20th Arkansas, and 24 Miss State Tenn wins over 25th LSU, 17th Pitt all on the road &, 17th Pitt all on the road & 20th Florida ,Alabama

Bama's win over a 5-6 Auburn is considered greater than TN blowout win over a 5-6 Vandy. Does that make any sense ?

Who said it was considered greater?

Where are you getting this information?

Maybe a Tennessee win over Vandy isn’t enough to take a 10th Tennessee and bump them over a 7th Bama.

Tennessee would have needed to already be ahead of them. Or needed Bamas game to be real close.

Alabama lost two game by four points. We lost two games by 39 points.
We never should have been ranked #1, that fired up Georgia.

Alabama gets the benefit of the doubt. They have been ranked in the top 4 or 5 for years.
We should have taken care of South Carolina, blowing out SC and Vandy might have put us over the top.
Now we get a good bowl game.

Bama lost to us in every category...this is why it should be a true championship won on the field.

Win your division
Win your conference
Play for a National Championship.

Any other system has a bumnh of nerds and human bias decideing who is better thebetter football team

We didn't win our division.
We didn't win our conference.
We aren't going to play for a Natty.

By your metric, we didn't have a chance after losing to GA (assuming head to head decides the division and GA and TN are the elite in the SEC East) and that was that.

This is BS…..This is Allllll they need !!! TEAM sport and was won by this team as a whole. They’re just finding excuses to get them in ! Hendon Hooker as great as he was he didn’t do it all by himself. Now if it wasn’t for B. Young Bama would’ve lost more games. If it wasn’t for Bru McCoy snatching that pass down in the last seconds we wouldn’t have beaten Bama…..By the way and the effort of the field go TEAM !!!

this sounds good in theory however not all conferences and all divisions are remotely equal.

Does a 8-4 Purdue really belong?
Does a 9-3 LSU?
9-3 UNC?

Not saying those teams will win their conference but each “could.”

2 of them (UNC and Purdue) got there because their divisions are extremely weak…….that’s it.

Purdue isn’t even ranked and they could get in with one single win. While really good teams get left out…….because they played in an actual conference and actual division and had strong SOS’s.

It’s never as “simple” as it seems in college football. If everyone played everyone else in their conference or played everyone in their division twice……maybe…….but they don’t.

At the end of the day we beat did Bama, but, don’t get smoked by an inferior opponent (SC) and you don’t even have to worry about it. We are in this position because of what we did to ourselves. Bama lost two close games to quality opponents on the road. We lost a semi close game to a quality opponent and got smoked by a lower tier SEC opponent.

Had we finished 11-1 the committee could’ve easily justified us at number 5. The SC loss killed us. Hopefully a learning experience for some of these players who are returning next year.

I know we got stomped by SC which we had no business losing that game... but things happen and teams have a bad game.... here's my issue:

If the CFP committee are using our best offensive player being injured against us, they why wouldn't they take into consideration our best defensive player was out for our recent loss?

I agree…….might could beat them.

However if they had voted Bama 7th and Tennessee 10th……..was there really any chance they could now put Tennessee to 6th and Bama behind them with a Vandy win?
You are correct. Face it, the USC junior loss is what caused this.

I think if one wants to be objective you can make the case for either TN or Bama to be in front. It really doesn't upset me. I'm more of a wait and see what happens this weekend. It'll all work out, we went 10-2...that pretty dang good.

BINGO. Alabama will back their way into the playoffs despite us having beaten them. It’s BS, but it’s just the way the world works. Regardless, Go Big Orange!

Hooker is out for the season. Milton doesn’t have the media star power that any of these other QBs have. 1 game vs Vandy isn’t gonna get you hype points.
I'm not doubting that Hooker being done was a factor, even if illegitimate. However... if Bryce Young was out for Bama, do you think that would make a difference for them? Highly doubt it.

The real reason is that Bama is established and presumed to have talent stacked on talent.

That and UT's D collapsing against a bad USCe team.

The CRAZIEST thing is... the media moneymakers have NO IDEA how much money they are actually going to lose without UT in the CFP. Nobody has mentioned that. More eyes on games equals more $$$. UT was in 3 of the 6 highest rated games on TV this year. Who'll travel better? A fired up UT fanbase or a spoiled, bored Bama fanbase? I'd guarantee you that UT would have more travel. It's not even close. Oh, well... keep Bama 6 and kick a few mill down the road. Dumbasses.

I agree but the ncaa loves to kiss Saban's nut sack to ...no way Bama should be ranked in the top 10 after loosing to a LSU team that got their ass's kicked by A&M!
