Reality

Dooley wanted out of K-Town and did everything and anything to make it happen.

Dooley alienated coaches and players, doesn't mean he didn't want to win. In the end it got out of hand. I just don't see trying to adjudicate blame to any of these previous regimes as useful. It's been a long road of missteps.

And honestly? Who knows. Maybe we see a Crompton-esque Renaissance with Worley. He definitely has enough talent to help us through this year. It's up to the coaching staff to find it and maximize it. Worley did receive offers to Florida, LSU, Notre Dame, Stanford and Florida State.

I will firmly stick to that assertion.

In reality the one man to blame is simple: Mike Hamilton

He gave Fulmer the fat extension.
He fired Fulmer before seasons end.
He hired Kiffin.
He gave Kiffin the small buyout
He Hired Dooley.

- Sal is up in the air Dooley or Hart.

There are some fat buyouts mixed in as well.

I'm not a Worley sympathizer but there are coaches and schemes I believe could get more out of him. I am rooting for our coaches and Worley to find his rhythm whatever the hell that is.

As we loved our La Tech coach
Well, only the idiots.

The obvious difference here is that we clearly hired the wrong guy from LATech, whereas we got the whole Bearcat staff pretty much.

Somebody was driving the success at LATech; it just seems in retrospect that it wasn't Dooley.

Butch and company have had repeated successes at each stop, and they have been working their way up. It's not a fair comparison.

Agreed.
The only thing that will tell the tell is time.
All we have is time.
Why not give it?

100% agreed. I'm not at all against Worley or the staff but calling a spade a spade is nothing more than that.

To this point, our offense has been far from impressive or consistent. It was inconsistent against WKU, Oregon, Florida and South Alabama. It isn't our opponent, there is something going on there.

Should Worley be able to complete a screen pass 8-9 out of 10 times? Yeah. Has he been able to? No. Should the coaches then just keep calling it? No. Work with him, see what makes it easier for him to make his reads and be comfortable throwing the ball.

Square peg -> round hole.

There really wasn't much success at La. Tech while Dooley was there.

Um, dude they were def booing Worley. Dude was terrible the second half. You can't blame Mike B when WRs are wide open and the ball lands 3 feet behind or infront of them.

Speak for yourself - I had more problems with the run, run, pass, punt.

run, run, pass, punt.

run, run, pass, punt than I did with individual play.
Worley appears to run hot and cold - will play a really good half and/or have a really bad stretch. Let's hope he is on for both halves against Georgia.

You could make the argument with the talent we have we will look inept no matter what system we run. But at last with this system it benefits the young guys playing. We are playing a ton of freshmen!

Wow, bad example with Sal Sunseri. Thats actually a prime example as to why you would want to implement a system early. Dooley's problem was that he tried to implement a 3-4 defensive system in the crucial 3rd year. Meaning he waited too late to implement a system. So what do you suggest Butch do? Run a system now, then change it next year or then next year? Then our young WRs have too learn a whole new system again?

I think we all expect the coach to get the most out of the players he has. I'm not a fan of any system that isn't designed to do that. Especially one that supposedly takes years to install and hasn't really been proven to be effective over time at the highest levels of college football.

Also it seems that the young QBs are not ready. This I do not know for sure, but if one of them was ready to play Butch would have them out there. He's already playing a ton of freshmen. Worley is probably the best option right now. Even though we are working for the future, you still have to try and win today. Thats why we still put the best players on the field.

Also the recruits that you go after fit the system you are running. I don't think it benefits you to run a pro-style offense and try and recruit a spread QB. You can show the recruits what kind of offense you want to have and tell them that they will be the key to making it work.

That's the scary thing. I have no doubt that Butch would be playing the freshmen if they were ready. What is scary is that they are less "ready" than Worley or Peterman. Both of those guys have looked horrible this season. Not just bad, but not even FBS level. Not even able to complete a 5 yard pass. If our freshmen are even worse, then what does it say about the future? What does it say about the QB coaching that none of the 4 can even just complete short passes and take care of the ball in a vanilla offense that seems to run a total of 5 different plays? And if everyone is indeed that bad, why aren't we doing everything we can to recruit more quarterbacks?

The worst case senario is we come down to the last game of the year with Kentucky and the debate begins on which school made the best coaching hire.
Please don't let this happen.

Here is the criticism I have of the offense or more to the point the play calling. The third INT shouldn't have happened. They were running it down USA's throat the drive previous and passing it down the field to Croom. IT was 31-7 at that point. Yet they threw a 5 yard pass that was tipped and picked off and returned to the 10 straight after getting the INT. USA wasn't stopping the run in the previous drive. If they had been running the ball and let Worley have a shot when it is 2nd and 2 the game would have been over midway through the third. I watched Texas A&M run the football nearly the whole 2nd half against Arkansas and they have Johnny Football. It isn't hard, play to your strengths and that is our OL and pounding the rock.

We all know that we are probably not going to have no good QB play this yr. We just need to ride this season out and maybe one of our freshmans will step up and take the rains

Reality is knowing our team is bad this year and Worley is extra bad. However, we have a good coach who if can hang on to this recruiting class will be a success in the future. Like it or not we are in yet another rebuilding year. We suck now, but on this track we will be a good team in two years.

Patience and time is all that will fix this.
Neither of which seems to be likely given around here.

Yep. People claim in the biggest negavol on the site when I claim how bad we are. Its just fact!

Accepting the truth is a difficult thing to do.
Anyone that thinks that talent wise we are on par with bama, LSU, or even Georgia is just lying to themselves.

It was, but he still threw him under the bus either way.

Why do you feel that a coach should take up for a player who isn't fulfilling his obligation to the coaches and his team. I think accountability is a good thing. Bray was guilty several times of immature behavior.

Reality? Maybe the fans were booing this:

Tennessee at 9:23 3rd Quarter
1st and 10 at SOAL 35
Justin Worley pass intercepted by Maleki Harris at the SAlab 32, returned for 58 yards to the Tenn 5, TENNESSEE penalty 5 yard Personal Foul accepted for a 1ST down.

SOAL scores a TD with short field.

Tennessee at 8:51 3rd Quarter
1st and 10 at TENN 23
Rajion Neal rush for 1 yard to the Tenn 24.
2nd and 9 at TENN 24
Rajion Neal rush for 2 yards to the Tenn 26.
3rd and 7 at TENN 26
Justin Worley pass incomplete.

South Alabama gets the ball back, scores Field Goal. UT 31-17.

Tennessee at 4:05 3rd Quarter
1st and 10 at TENN 23
Rajion Neal rush for 3 yards to the Tenn 26.
2nd and 7 at TENN 26
Rajion Neal rush for a loss of 3 yards to the Tenn 23.
3rd and 10 at TENN 23
Justin Worley pass incomplete.

SOAL has a sustained drive but misses a Field Goal.

Tennessee responds with a short drive, missed FG.

SOAL then gets ball back, scores. Then this:

Tennessee at 8:55
1st and 10 at TENN 41
Justin Worley pass incomplete.
2nd and 10 at TENN 41
Justin Worley pass complete to Rajion Neal for 4 yards to the Tenn 45.
3rd and 6 at TENN 45
Justin Worley pass incomplete.

SOAL gets the ball back. Defense is exhausted at this point due to the Offense having 3 drives of 4 that are 3-and-outs. INT in the endzone to end the game.

That's why fans were booing. Many saw the return of Randy Sanders ball. I remember UT fans booed him when we did the run/run/Incomplete pass/punt crap. They weren't booing a certain player, specifically. The entire Offense, under OC Bajakian's playcalls, about #()*&@ the bed and cost UT what should have been an easy win against a Sun Belt team.

BOOO YOU!:peace2:
