1.And This is the biggest reason, Butch Jones wants to go with the guy who gives us the best chance to win.

Worely is a Junior QB who has experience and he's the most polished QB we have. He's not going to throw a true freshman in and we go 4-8. The goal is to get 6-6. He's already feeling the heat and the boobirds from the fanbase. He's going to go with the best chance to win and right now that is Justin Worley.

2. He doesn't want to burn our QB's redshirt.
We need to have quality depth down the line.
This is a must.

3. Worley needs as many reps as he can. This is a brand new offense that everyone including Worley is adjusting to. While Worley is to blame for a lot of of the problems on Offense. The Wideouts and O-Line share the blame
as well. From Recievers not running the routes to our Backs & O-line not making their correct blocks.

Prepare to be attacked.... but your points are valid.

I would add that Jones sees incremental improvements that are not necessarily noticed by fans. He understands that when the QB and WR's are consistently in sync is when good things happen. That's why he has consistently said the problems are deeper than the QB's even after Peterman's rough go.

4. Confidence = winning, something worley doesn't have at the moment. Cbj sticking with his quarterback is showing worley his coach has faith. Kiffin did the same thing with Crompton and around this time 4 years ago it worked for him.

Different team? Absolutely but I think Cbj is trying to give worley confidence through his faith in his qb.

He's the coach so he knows more than me. My only issue is if peterman is out hurt, he's gonna have to use one of them if something bad happens.

Cut did it with Ainge too when many fans including yours truly was calling for Crompton to take over no later than mid-season. Ainge's Soph season shattered his confidence. Cut rebuilt it but it wasn't pretty. Numbers coming out of scrimmages all pointed to JC being the QB of NOW.

Then suddenly... a rebuilt Ainge torches a really good Cal team.

It is still possible that the confidence of Worley and the confidence he and the receivers have in each other will begin to "click" as they all make improvements. Improvements among teammates like that tend to multiply each other.

Nice to see some knowledgeable fans. The 2nd string QB is always the most popular. Worley is the starter for a reason.

This is a brand new offense, you got to have paticence. Not all blame falls on the Quarterback.

I hope I am wrong but I do not see Worley getting better.

I don't see Worley as bad! He's just not confident. When he settles down and makes a decision he has thrown some very nice passes! But after the third int. Last week he lost the little confidence he had and started over throwing receivers again! I think he has potential, we will only see if he lives up too it!

This came out today. It's the most he's said on the subject all season, so take what you can from it:

“I see these kids everyday. I'm in meetings with them everyday. I watch their demeanor in pregame warm-ups. It's one thing when you go into a game and you say I may play and if we get ahead, if something happens, no pressure,” Jones said. “Again, these are 17-, 18-year old young adults who could be playing in front of 100,000 people on national television against some great defenses. As much as everyone wants to see them, it's my job and it's my responsibility to them, to their parents, and to our football program to not put them in, if given that luxury, until they're ready. In our professional opinion right now, they haven't been ready. Will that change this week? It may change based on how they handle practice.”

I'm not saying that I wanted Bray to stay, but he said that he knew it was time to go when bUTch showed up and said that we were going to have more of a run first offense. If he would have known then that Worley, the qb, hardly ever runs then maybe he would have stayed. Just saying...........

Tee Martin didn't look like a good passer early on, but he had great wheels and a great supporting cast to bail him out. Then came the USuCk game and he was lights out.

Crompton might have been able to beat even Worley at a game of bowling using footballs. But in the GA game somebody flipped a switch and he was respectable from then on.

Worley might come around. He showed his potential against USA with a pretty good streak including a great pass into the corner of the south end zone, before going back into the tank.

People, we are seeing the exact same type of threads over and over. The negavols are just trying to jack up their thread count to b!tch about something they have no clue about.
But this will not change because as soon as we get beat by any of the next three teams, ignorant posters will come out in droves and bad mouth the coaching and our players which just fuels the very same people to defend said players and coaches.

I KNOW THIS IS A MESSAGE BOARD AND DISCUSSION IS THE POINT. But eventually even the fat lady sings and moves on. Lets just try and stay positive. No one with a lick of common sense, like most jort wearing turtle hunt'n not even close to full head of teeth piss throwing (really piss?) sitt'n in a urinal butts down no tradition no real live mascot arm chopping like a retard playing pac man in his head gator fan can blame this coaching staff for what is happening.

Yeah I went of on a tangent there. But I am being forced to watch The Voice.

But What did starting Peterman do to build Worley's confidence? That's the only thing that doesn't make sense.

I'm just stuck on how the OP couldn't make up his mind on how to spell Worley's name. Flipped from one to the other different times.

Just to lighten the mood. :)

Well, I and most other posters on here were not invited to attend practices the week of the Oregon game. I have to take it on the word of Butch Jones that during that week, Peterman had the best week of practice. Since Peterman is suppose to be more mobile than Worley, the coaches truly believed Nathan gave us the best chance to compete.

I don't know what it is going to take for Worley, Peterman, Ferguson, or Dobbs to settle one of them into leading this offense well. It might be helpful if an explayer like Peyton Manning gave them pointers, but he is a little busy right now. They may all look decent in practice, but it is obvious practice reps are very different than game reps.

I just hope that during this week of practice, one of the three uninjured QBs finds the mojo they need to bring consistent leadership and performance to this offense. That would solved a great many of the issues on that side of the ball, and encourage the others to correct their own problems. Because I hate Georgia, and I hate losing to them. And I want to hear that drunk knucklehead call for Richt's head and cry on radio again. That was priceless.

If it is your wife forcing you to watch that crap, that would, in a perfect world and if I were a judge, be sufficient grounds for divorce due to cruel and unusual stupidity.

Regain your man card, and just say no, brother. That can cause brain damage. Joy Behar is the devil.

How much better is Bray than Worley? Maybe a lot, maybe not. Bray had 3 receivers who are catching balls in the NFL and scoring touchdowns this year. We all know who Worley has to throw to.

Would Bray have success with these new receivers? Guess we will never know, but I doubt he would have as much success as last year.

And, quite frankly, Georgia's defense is one that, if Justin can avoid inopportune turnovers, could facilitate that mutual progression of confidence on the part of our quarterback and his receivers.

Hey, lets just put this Qb issue to rest this season. When someone other than Worley starts, then we go from there. I don't think Worley is the answer, but I need to let it go and just see how it plays out. I need to support more and throw stones less.

I agree with no. 1. I don't think CBJ is even thinking about redshirts. Were either of the two freshman near ready to play and were performing better than Worley in practice, one of them would be playing. It's likely that neither are practicing nearly well enough to even think about making a change to one of them

Good post
