I don't feel confident that we will get him but I know there is that small outside shot. Fulmer will shock everyone with something before it's over. I am wishing it might be Logan-El.

There are rumblings out there that we'll land Logan El, but I just don't see it happening. From all of my sources combined, I just simply don't see it happening. But there are a couple claiming he'll be a Vol. It's atleast worth keeping an eye. I'm more inclined to think that his family wants him at PSU while he like Maryland slightly better.

hmmm.... idk. I am going into the day tommorrow thinking we are going to get him... who knows, fulmer is a recruiting god. 83 what do you think about brandon heath? I think on his visit this weekend we need D-Mo to show him around, there both from the same area I think that would help us alot on getting him..

I'm like you. I don't have my hopes up but I am anxious to hear what his decision is.

I haven't heard anything specific about Heath except that it's UT vs. WVU for him. Just based on a gut feel, I think we'll get him. WVU seems to have the upper hand because of his familiarity there with some of his former teammates playing for WVU, but he wasn't all that impressed on his official this past weekend. I think that sets up very well for UT this weekend. If he gets 'blown away', like most recruits claim after a visit, then I think we get him. With signing day coming up so soon after his visit, we'll be really fresh in his mind. He likes UT as it is, but we're only even with WVU in his eyes. Unless he gets bad vibes on his trip, I think we'll jump ahead in the race. He's a very good player that we could really use. I hope we get him.

What does it say when you have 16 commitments and it is the #2 recruiting class in the country? Is it a realistic ranking even if you are loaded with 4 and 5 star kids?

hmm idk... I would have to say that its resonable.. I mean I havent really looked at all they have gotten, but what like 5 10 star players? I do think we will look back on there class and see that they didnt get enough of what was needed... those 5 star players dont always pan out..

The thing that amazes me about USC is it seems that they've gotten literally everyone they've wanted the last three years. When you go from LA to New Jersey and get the best reciever one year and then do the same thing in Tennesse the next, that's just unreal.

and to think, they still didnt win the national championship......

theres an argument to be made that they only won one national championship....

back on topic, I will be hoping for the vols to get logan-el, but dont get the hopes up...

Obviously, the recent success will attract kids who really want a good chance to play for a BCSNC. While I personally do not like LA very much as a 35 year-old, I can remember when I was 18 years old thinking that the sunny beaches and beautiful women of southern California had to be heaven on earth. Also, people sometimes forget that USC is a private university which means there might be a little more assistance when it comes to making sure that top athletes make their grades than you might realistically expect from a state school. It's plain to see that pretty much anyone could sell a kid on USC right now. I'm not so much surprised that they have highly rated recruits. I am surprised that such a small cohort of players justifies being considered the Top 2 recruiting class in the country.

Anybody heard any updates on the status of Brandon Warren???

Is he still pretty much a lock for Bobby Bowden?

Everything I am reading about Brandon sounds like he is going to FSU which really makes me wonder why he would still visit UT this weekend. He says he is making the visit because he promised to do it but I am sure that if he called CPF and said that he was going to FSU and that's that then Phil would probably wish him luck and tell him that he does not "owe" UT a visit based on a promise to a recruiter. There is something strange about all of this and so long as the waters are a little murky I'd say we still have a shot.

Just saw that Jerod Shaw committed yesterday. Big defensive tackle. He should be able to knock some people around in the trenches.

We are up to #22 in Rivals rankings. I think that is the highest we have been this go-round.

344 is one big mamma jamma.

brandon warren soft verbal to fsu sucks. last year it was patrick turner and now brandon warren. can we please land the big boys in-state? hate seeing the best talent leave the state for other green pastures.

You're right to compare this situation to Patrick Turner last year. Definitely a rollercoaster for the Vol fans. I think that loosing Brandon hurts a little more because we can't sit back and console ourselves with a top 5 recruiting class the way we could last year. I guess it 'aint over 'til it's over. Brandon says he will announce a final decision on Monday.

anyone know about Deantwan Whitehead and how his visit went on the 20th to UT?

Also, anyone know the skinny on Clifton Geathers or Jeremiha Hunter?

I read something about Geathers may not sign with anybody since he has no test scores. Sounds like a real academic issue.

THe mobile registry is reporting that Tim Hawthorne is now listing Auburn as his favorite. Do we have a real chance at getting him?
