I wish we would embrace our rushing attack, run the zone read and tell Joe to keep the ball some, run the option, run WR in motion with the option to run jet sweeps. Get super creative with it. Tell Joe if he doesn’t pull it and run aggressively some then he will sit for someone who will do that. We could demolish some teams like that. Then we can run play action off of it and probably hit some big pass plays.
This is it exactly. Need to diversify the running game, minimize the passing game, and play defense. That is the best version of this team

Milton can’t be fixed imo. He relies so heavy on his arm. He doesn’t throw a receiver open or anticipate routes. He has to see the receiver open and then relies on his arm to rocket the ball in there. He doesn’t look at all comfortable or confident back there. It’s really hard to watch because I had such high hopes for the guy.

Edit: that said, I’m not advocating a switch to Nico. Not at 5-1. And I trust CJH and his decision not to make the switch.
He doesnt trust his legs either. He had two nice runs in the fourth quarter, that were designed.

So often he could easily pull ball down and get first down, but that would require contact.

I wonder if the coaches got in his ear after not lowering his shoulder to get a first down in the 1st Quarter. After that he ran MUCH more physically…in fact, he put out TAMU’s stud LB

That rollout of was inexcusable. There was a moment, albeit brief where he couldve turned up field and gained a few yards. Instead he tries to throw it last second.

If they had called the blatant PI on the great ball he threw to Nimrod in the endzone two plays before, the play you're talking about would have never happened anyway.

I hope we do. That game is in a bad spot coming off what will be 2 very physical games, and they get a bye week. Also, you can guarantee that will be a night game. We will need to start fast and maybe they will lay down and quit on Stoops.
I'm not cashing that check as a win by any means.

AP explained why they will continue rolling with Milton in the post-game pod. Essentially, the team still believes in Joe and continues to win with him, so replacing him would not go well with the players on the team. Apparently, Alabama replacing Milroe caused locker room issues ("when they pulled Milroe, the locker room revolted down at Alabama"), and replacing Milton would likely produce similar results at Tennessee under the current circumstances.

Plus, once you make the change, you can't really go back to Joe.
Everybody is in a big ole hurry to toss a true freshman out into SEC football. I understand that Joe is not Hendon Hooker and he never will be. He looked better against SC and will look better against the rest of our comp. The AM DL is a monster and we just ran the ball down their throats. Just enjoy being 5-1 everyone. We are a solid team but we have some weaknesses. That is who we are this year and the coaches will do what they can to minimize those weaknesses. Just sit back and enjoy being 5-1. Lots of other teams that aren't 5-1 would've to be in our shoes. Go read the SC or AM boards if you doubt it.

That game did nothing to convince me we'll get a fairly called game against opponents. Refs missed multiple DPIs against the Aggies. Multiple false starts. At least one late hit. Multiple holding calls. And WE WERE AT HOME. Officiating has been bad across college football this season, but it's been really bad when it comes to our games.
I wasn’t following in the game thread, so I’m curious what everyone thought of our holding calls downfield on a couple of our long runs. On TV they looked like really weak calls.

Also, their RG absolutely jumped on their last big 3rd down conversion. I couldn’t believe there was no flag and no mention on replay.

I don’t necessarily think there was bias though. I just think officiating is that bad.

Did anyone see the late hit out of bounds on Burden two feet from the official with no flag thrown? The SEC has a problem.

Here is a blatant PI no-call in the first quarter. DB grabs and holds Nimrod's arm before the ball arrives. A call there likely results in us scoring. Instead we have the play where Joe is indecisive and throws out of bounds on fourth down. That play would have never happened. This is at 24:35 on Freak's replay.

Danielson, who watches multiple cameras the whole time (he does not watch the play directly) HAS to see this. What he does is to tell the viewer to blame Joe. It was a nice touch pass. But Danielson says it was thrown late and Joe should have rocketed it in there. Meaning, if anyone stopped to think about what he was suggesting, that the ball should have been a rope without touch. If that had been the case it would have been a fault, and Gary would have told the viewer that instead. Then Brad says "the Tennessee fans" want PI. As if that is merely a biased view. You can hear the boos.

When they finally show us the view that Gary has had the whole time, we immediately see that the DB has his hand around Nimrod's wrist and is pushing his arm away from the ball, leaving Nimrod one-handed and making a catch impossible. Clear PI no-call in the endzone.

I think no one even talked about this much because Danielson had played to prejudice and convinced the viewer it was Joe's fault. A nice way to dodge the PI at the spot.View attachment 587306View attachment 587307
Refs are inconsistent on PI calls. They missed at least 2 on us.
I dint understand the holding calls either, every time TN was driving, a flag would come out. I felt A&M didn't get called for any holdings. It's becoming the same story every game.

Alabama QB Jalen MilRoe stats
14/27 for 255 yds 51.9% comp 2/2 td/ int sacked 5 times vs Texas
21/33 for 321 yds 63.6% 3/1. Sacked 6 times vs A&M
10/21 for 238 yds 47.6% 2/0 sacked 5 times vs Arkansas

Very inconsistent QB had game of his life vs A&M ...take Burton out of his stats line and MilRoe done nothing..
Two TD' s were bust in Arkansas secondary...
In hindsight take Burton away then MilRoe has no success...he is a RB playing QB...Vols 24 Tide 14....Go Vols. 14-1....
Didn't include Mississippi schools but no hum vs Ole Miss...and only threw 12 times vs Miss.St...but did complete 10 of them...

It’ll be like yesterdays game imo.

I feel like us and Bama are pretty identical this season. No QB, just finding ways to win.

We will see who plays the better defense this weekend

Premise: Kamal Hadden has improved tremendously in his time at Tennessee to become our best corner and a legit NFL prospect.

Fact: We just shut down two pretty good QBs two weeks in a row with great corner play, married up with exceptional D-Line play.

Fact: Willie Martinez coaches the cornerbacks.

Conclusion: Willie Martinez should be fired!

Am I doing logic well?

I don’t trust either 1) Milton to even hit wide open receivers -or- 2) Our receivers to catch the ball

Mainly just # 1

If I’m a DC then I make Milton beat me. He may make a few plays but he’s chock full of miscues that he ain’t gonna take over a game. Not in his DNA.
