I had 8-4 as where we should be in y3 with this schedule. The a&m win bumps it to 9-3. The way UGA & bama have played this season, we have a legitimate shot at 11-1 👀. . . I hate UF.
Yeah I don't see UK or Mizzou beating us. Especially not UK. Mizzou I guess could beat us, but impossible to say that for me since we've scored 5 million points against them in two years.

What do you guys think the WR issue is? Coaching? Talent? Both?

They have been a huge disappointment this year
Squirrel is the only really good one

Ramel can be slightly above average at times.

Thornton is the biggest WR bust known to mankind.

Chas Nimrod looks like a G5 player to me. I don't get why he played the whole game. He is just okay. Webb and Leacock are more talented.

My only hope is that Dont'e somehow pulls his head out of his ass.

Not about believing he is automatically better. No one has said that that I have read anyway. Its about moving on and your 6th years Senior QB making dumb mistakes that maybe a Freshman QB would make but I know we got Joe until the end of the season. Can't wait to see our future.
What? Why would we "move on" when we're 5-1? I am sorry but that is silly talk. There are plenty of people who think he would be better.

Thornton isn’t going to be part of the equation this year. Ramel has been a bad receiver this year.

I actually liked what I’ve seen from Nimrod

Nimrod has shown to be solid to me. He came in late against USC and caught a huge third down. He’s made contested catches, and he beat his man on two no call PI’s. I believe he will be playing a lot more.

Joe has always been inconsistent in games. He can be much better and needs to be. But it's hard to know what you're going to get from him live. And the receivers need to make some of the hard catches, too. They can't count on getting the PI calls.
I have no doubt if Joe and Jaylin and Tillman, his numbers would be much better.

I just don't see a ceiling with him. He's at best Jimmy Holiday. He's just a guy. Webb is at least big. Still not elite athleticism.

Wouldn't be surprised if we get a portal WR, Leacock and Mike Matthews all surpass Webb and Nimrod.

I'm sure they can be okay, but neither of them will ever be Hyatt, Bru, Tillman, Velus etc. They don't have the body type. Maybe Webb could.

Premise: Kamal Hadden has improved tremendously in his time at Tennessee to become our best corner and a legit NFL prospect.

Fact: We just shut down two pretty good QBs two weeks in a row with great corner play, married up with exceptional D-Line play.

Fact: Willie Martinez coaches the cornerbacks.

Conclusion: Willie Martinez should be fired!

Am I doing logic well?
Credit where credit’s due, Martinez has really done a great job this year with the DB’s, same with Banks and the defense as a whole

A guy who makes contested catches on third down always has a place on a football team. Doesn’t have to be Hyatt or Tillman. In fact, that’s a lofty expectation. He’s shown the coaches something by being the first of that group to really play. There were practice notes that he flashed last year but maybe got hurt.

Are you seriously ok with the QB play from that game?

And Nico isn’t just the backup he’s by far the highest rated QB UT had recruited in the modern era, and Joe is a 6th year SR. still making freshmen level mistakes.

Equating their struggles (hypothetical in Nicos case) is a little disingenuous as one would be seeing his first action while the other is on his third chance at starting.

I don’t think Nico should be trotted out to start his first game in Denny’s Stadium, but another performance like that from Joe and it might be worth seeing if Nico can at least lead his receiver on an in route vs UK.
All I am saying is that I trust our coach. I do think if we don't trot Nico out in Denny's, we should at least think about trotting him out at Waffle House.
