I just facepalm when people fall into the fallacy that when a young player comes in and looks very good towards the second half of the season that outcomes earlier in the season would've been different had he played, or the coaches are dumb for not playing sooner. (Not saying you've done this, just piggybacking off the discussion)
Young players grow so much during their first season. If Nico comes in a lights it up against UConn, it doesn't mean he would've lit up Florida. He could've played worse than Milton (and the problems in Gainesville stretched beyond the QB). It could've been demoralizing for him too. We have to trust the coaches to know when the players are ready and give us the best chance to win (we've already seen the switch from Small to Sampson as RB2, and we've seen guys like Burrell phased out, and I've seen Josephs used more frequently as the season has progressed).
Nico will get more reps this season, and hopefully he looks fantastic. Plays well and looks very promising. It's still Joe's team. I don't think Nico coming in in a blowout and looking good means he should replace Milton, though. I still think he only starts if Joe gets injured or we've lost multiple games we shouldn't have.
