Only one words describes Beamer, and I have never used this for anyone else, but it is the word…

Goober
The best part is all the crap he got for that, so the next day's press conf he started by saying basically, "Y'all know that I always take accountability and shield the players, so you should have all assumed that context after I said all that stuff blaming the kids."

ETA quote. Man, talk about gaslighting...

"I didn’t think we were great at [adjusting] last night and ultimately that’s on us as coaches, which leads me to the second part. I’m certainly aware that much is being made of some of my comments when I was asked about what I saw on defense and I gave specific examples. Anybody that has covered this program and knows me knows that I have always come into those post-game press conferences after a poor performance and saying, you know, something along the lines of 'I didn’t do a good enough job coaching and ultimately it’s on me and I’m responsible.' That has always been the case and last night was no different," Beamer explained. "My frustrations last night were the fact that we were in position to make those plays and we didn’t make them and ultimately that’s on us as coaches for not having our guys, starting with me as the head football coach, not having our guys in, not just in position to make those plays, but getting it done.

It really doesn't matter how many yards he throws for. If he gets the ball to the right places and doesn't turn it over we win. A point guard's main job is to take care of and distribute the ball. I know there are a lot of people out there that want the splash long pass plays and gaudy numbers but they are unnecessary. I would rather have outstanding defense than to have a flashy offense. Defense win the big games, always has always will, we learned that last year didn't we.
Man, a shut down defense with a brutalizing run game. Throw in a competent pass game that moves the chains, and just the danger of a deep threat?

SHeeeeeeeeT.

(Also, if the zebras call DPI, we win going away.)

If we have that we can survive a couple egregious calls by the officials.

Realizing there’s a lot of season left with a lot of chances for this to go sideways: if there’s a chance we’ve truly become a team that beats you to death with hammers, there are few more stunning year-to-year transformations of a team I can remember in this sport. I think we might have a hell of a coach.

There’s also plenty of season left for further improvement. Imagine if our DL improves further! Our OL improves. Our RBs improve. Our QB improves. It can all happen en route to

14-1 🤠

"Holding. Illegal use of strength and leverage. The entire offensive line. Automatic turnover. First down Bama."

"Illegal use of speed and agility. Tennessee running backs. They'll have to run the ball as a potato sack race the rest of the game."

"That guy on the left edge of their DL is just nasty. If we allow him to keep rushing Milroe, it'll affect the rest of their season because their backups such even worse. So, he's had three personal fouls that you didn't hear us call, and is ejected."

I'm actually convinced the most improvement in the pass game needs to happen with the receivers. Lord knows, Milton isn't perfect, but a rewatch of aTm game has convinced me that Milton was good enough to have us up by 21 if the receivers had done their jobs and helped him just a smidgen.

The coaches need to drill them mercilessly this week, and make each one carry a football 24x7.

Why do they all sound the same? Almost like they are taking time to put extra emphasis on words and insert breaks without breathing in more before finishing the sentence. Actually, I think I figured it out. It’s like a sentence that may need one comma and they’ve put 5 commas in.

“It’s very weird, when you talk like this, to illustrate the point, that you’re going to beat the hell, out of the team you’re set to play.”

Because it’s a cult much like Scientology or Bitcoin.

Don't joke, could happen.

This week is all about Birmingham and officials. The game will be fought in the back rooms before it is played. Having the national spotlight on the game helps, but will not even the playing field with the officials. We need to bring it every play and Milton needs to man up like he did in the second half while playing better in the pass game.

SC was critical for getting back on track. aTm was critical for telling them where they are in roster development and heart. This one tells us if the Tennessee dog is in them yet or not. Make the General proud and it will all work out well.

They’ve set the tone and low bar for much of the other local media.
My contempt has travelled with me since I was a kid with nothing to read but the KNS sports section.
Maybe I should just let it go…

Nah, they are the original Butch-level-bad.
Eeh I like the Sunday Edition of KNS....enjoy reading the recap of game and the grades they passed out to each area...but my go to section is the Obituaries...to see if I passed away or not...

The run up the middle after any first down is infuriating.
It is a necessary element of the offense, it keeps the defense honest, re: the dive in the triple option. Besides we have broken many big plays doing that. It may seem like a wasted play to many (I have heard many in the stands complain) but it has to happen. I think that men who have done an effective job at play calling for a living would not do it otherwise, even though the legion of the intoxicated would disagree.

I refuse to read my own obituary. I want to die under the impression that people liked me.
