On this day in 1931, Al Capone was found guilty of tax evasion. The gangster who had reportedly boasted, “They can’t collect legal taxes from illegal money” was sentenced to 11 years in prison for failing to file tax returns.

This week is all about Birmingham and officials. The game will be fought in the back rooms before it is played. Having the national spotlight on the game helps, but will not even the playing field with the officials. We need to bring it every play and Milton needs to man up like he did in the second half while playing better in the pass game.

SC was critical for getting back on track. aTm was critical for telling them where they are in roster development and heart. This one tells us if the Tennessee dog is in them yet or not. Make the General proud and it will all work out well.

If he has to rely on getting hit or having someone else get him pumped up, he is going to struggle.

It is a necessary element of the offense, it keeps the defense honest, re: the dive in the triple option. Besides we have broken many big plays doing that. I may seem like a wasted play to many (I have heard many in the stands complain) but it has to happen. I think that men who have done an effective job at play calling for a living would not do it otherwise, even though the legion of the intoxicated would disagree.

I’m going to have to disagree. Respectfully. It’s a wasted play. I get why we try it but it never works.

One of my favorite moments rewatching the game was on 4th down and Eason makes a late shift over the center. He absolutely blows the center up causing the QB’s foot to be stepped on for a sack (they didn’t score it a sack and needs to be changed).

But that wasn’t the best part. Gary’s hatred for us spilled out on national television and he yelled “what are they doing!?!?” His counterpart calmly pointed out what happened and Gary regained composure.

Gary absolutely hates TN and the feeling is mutual. He made the comment that they would be back for GA. It was almost like "We might have lost today, but we'll be back for GA!" He's the worst announcer in CFB. Enjoy the big whatever, loser.
