My wife was out shopping the other day and I was watching the kids. One of the kids yelled “Yippee Ki Yay”. Instinctively, I finished the phrase before realizing what I did. Now I have to explain to my wife how the kids learned this new word.
Did you rip that off of Facebook?

Would you say he's an......View attachment 588282

FTR: I really like Joe. He's not losing games like JG did. I do get aggravated with some of JM's decisions. I truly believe if he can "just play" football and not try to think so much, we will win out this football season.
JG was really bad, but so were those teams. It takes a village.

Thing is...I'm trying to think of the last superstar QB that "looked like a beast"

There's basically just Cam Newton...oh and Jared Lorenzen 👀

Give me Patty Mahomes or even Kyler Murray. A little squirt with an arm, legs, quick brain, and a quick trigger.
Kyler Murray sucks. I wish your Titans would trade with the Cardinals for him.

Why do you all do this to yourselves?

Joe was 19 of 28 for 251 yards and 3 TDs against Clemson

He has had 5 games this year with an average of 20 completions and 32 attempts for 233 yards and a TD per game.

The biggest difference? WRs catching the deep balls. 2nd TD drive Squirrel catches a 50 yard pass that set up a 2 yd TD for Small, 4th TD drive Keyton catches a 46 yard TD.

Seems small, but those 2 big passes against Clemson made up 2 completions 96 yards and a TD. That's really been it, against every team we've faced there has been at least one or 2 of those deep balls that didn't hit. Missed DPI, bad throw, or drops. When those hit Joe has a game like Clemson, when they don't hit we get games like A&M.
I see the stats and they are valid. What my eyes see is a QB that just isn’t great.

You and the wife are into some strange things....

Not that I'm judging.

This is really a GOAT statistic. It's been a minute, but I remember doing breakdowns of CFP teams and their net YPPs.

Basically you better be 2+ to have a chance to make the playoffs and have even a non-embarrassing showing. 3+ and you're golden.

Then look at the squads that eeked into the playoffs only to get SQUASHED:

2012 ND + 1.21 YPP
2015 Mich St - .03 YPP 😅🤣
I'm sure there's others, but those 2 I always think of.

For context and ranking the last 15 years of Vol teams in parantheses:

2009 +.83 (4th)
2010 +.28 (9th)
2011 -.39 (12th)
2012 +.29 (8th)
2013 - .80 (14th)
2014 - .38 (11th)
2015 +.35 (7th)
2016 +.60 (6th)
2017 -1.17 (15th)
2018 -.21 (10th)
2019 +.78 (5th)
2020 -.57 (13th)
2021 +1.04 (3rd)
2022 +2.09 (1st)
2023 +1.89 (half-season) (2nd)
