BingoWhy do you all do this to yourselves?
Joe was 19 of 28 for 251 yards and 3 TDs against Clemson
He has had 5 games this year with an average of 20 completions and 32 attempts for 233 yards and a TD per game.
The biggest difference? WRs catching the deep balls. 2nd TD drive Squirrel catches a 50 yard pass that set up a 2 yd TD for Small, 4th TD drive Keyton catches a 46 yard TD.
Seems small, but those 2 big passes against Clemson made up 2 completions 96 yards and a TD. That's really been it, against every team we've faced there has been at least one or 2 of those deep balls that didn't hit. Missed DPI, bad throw, or drops. When those hit Joe has a game like Clemson, when they don't hit we get games like A&M.
And Pearce needs more snaps than anyone on the d-line Saturday, especially more than Roman Harrison...and I'm not buying the "keep him fresh" argument someone had earlierOn another topic they went over...I told all y'all all last year, despite limited playing time...that Pearce was a absolute freak. I think one time I even said he could be a all-timer here if he would just stick around...when others here were kinda saying no big deal if he left, I said that it would haunt us.
If you really payed attention or went back to watch replays of plays when he was in the game last year, it was abundantly obvious that he was super explosive.
You can really tell that he has worked super hard to refine that talent and listened to his coaching...he really could leave here mentioned in the same breath as the all-time Volunteer greats.
I also think Josephs has the potential to be great...he just isn't as refined yet, but he is also explosive as hell.
I would love to see them both continue to grow and someday be absolutely lethal bookends like Chris Mims and Chuck Smith (all you other old geezers will know exactly what that means) IMO they were the best bookend DEs we've ever had....they were devastating to passing games.
Yes. . . I mentioned that Pearce is about to go supernova because of bama's freshman o-lineman. Good lawd I hope Banks turns on the pressure cooker full blast all game long. I'm gonna lose my cool if they open a can of gatas game plan on the tod. Stay after mehlroe all game, he'll make some big mistakes or get put out of the game. Nightmare scenario for the tod if Simpson or the other one has to play.Alabama's left tackle situation is really awful ya'll..... just sayin'.
Arkansas Landon Jackson came into the game last week with two sacks. One against Kent State and one against BYU. Dude had 3.5 against bama. He is not nearly as athletic as JPjr, Roman, Baron, or Joseph's and he was running and ducking right past bama's LT. The dude also had 11 tackles where his previous season high was 5. Now Bama did rotate left tackles, but it was a struggle all game long.
I think Bama's offense is a lot worse than ours actually. They only moved the ball when Arkansas had horrible busts in coverage. Milroe had a couple nice intermediate throws and they had a few good runs but....meh.
yeeep.Dude seriously?
Yeah I went back and watched bama's left tackles against Ark and they are BADDDDD they whiffed on that big Ark dude all game long. Like they will not be able to block Pearce or Baron at all. There is no way.Yes. . . I mentioned that Pearce is about to go supernova because of bama's freshman o-lineman. Good lawd I hope Banks turns on the pressure cooker full blast all game long. He had some great games last year. Not really what I would call a "choker." I do think he needs to be sat down and maybe have a little time to see what he can do coming in off the bench or see if it motivates him to focus more.Just think, Keaton has caught thousands of passes in practice. He doesn't do it when needed in the game. He's a 'choker'. He chokes when the easiest of passes can be caught. You can't tell me someone over there on the sideline can't run routes and catch passes. Heard a 'homer' on a call in show saying we need more time to develop a passing attack and for the receivers catching passes. Nope, that's what practice is for, idiot. Bring it from all of the hundreds of pass routes ran THIS YEAR in practice to the game. If you don't have it by now you never will. Replace him. Give the next one in line a chance to show he can be counted on cause we're not seeing that from Keaton.

Double Gauldens to the ref?Portal him to Knoxville he’ll fit right in. We specialize in ornithological salutations.

Here it is. I will add South Carolina and Texas A&M tonight.I feel like there's been something like this in EVERY GAME this year. Whether it's officiating or lack of execution, or something else.
Your post inspired me. I have been on the fence about creating a thread for this for several days.
I'm going to take some time this afternoon to compile all the points left on the field by the Vols this season. Stay tuned. I'll create it in the FF and link it here.
