This makes sense when a fair catch means you get it where the ball is caught (I.e. on a punt). But the logic there is that you are bound by the fair catch, not that you “get it where it is caught.”Of you try to return a fair catch you get it at the spot the ball is caught. Since the other returner tried to return it we got it where we caught it.
Iowa got called today on the same thing. This makes sense when a fair catch means you get it where the ball is caught (I.e. on a punt). But the logic there is that you are bound by the fair catch, not that you “get it where it is caught.”
If there is a rule that states the rule you said, please share, but if it exists, it seems to me it would likely just be a holdover from before fair catches on kickoffs got spotted at the 25.
In any case, literally never seen this call… and I’ve watched a lot of football.
Agreed. That’s when I knew we would be fighting uphill in the second half.End of the 1st half, 3rd & 3 inside Bama 15. Joe clearly makes a 1st on a keeper. Called short & 20 seconds run off. Booth reviews and overturns it. 1st & goal with 42 seconds, very next play Small runs for 2-3 and runs outta bounds. Official calls his forward progress stopped in bounds & keeps clock running. We burn a TO.
That series was all I needed to see to know refs had the fix in.
bc joe was outplaying him in practice… you don’t play the guy doing worse in practice.Idk, looks like Heupel caught lightning in a bottle with Hendo......let's not forget he was 2nd on the depth chart behind joe until Joe's injury and Hendo played so good he couldn't pull him. Just saying, he did have the best qb on the bench once already.
You are the one who said Heup was calling plays and I asked if you had video of him saying this. That is all I am asking and you got all defensive. If Halzle is calling plays he sucked and if Heup was calling plays he sucked. So I will ask again do you have video of Heup saying he calls plays?Give me the Zapruder film showing Halzle doing all…whatever you said.If it’s not on your cloud, post proof from two seasons worth of GOLESH offensive coordinating. Thanks in advance.
