Politics and money. UT has no desire to leave the SEC, and DW and DP are unlikely to censure publicly. It would have to come from Randy Boyd. IIRC, UT gave up 26 and 27 uncontested points against UF and Bama -- two heated rivalry games-- which does not effectively counterpoint the narrative that UT was outplayed and outschemed in two uncompetitive losses. Then it’s time to stop being status quo, and make a stand! We are Tennessee! We are one of the founding members of this conference! Make a stand that we want fair officiating every single game, no matter where it is played, and no matter what is on the line. If the SEC does not want to give us that, then tell them we will gladly take all of our money and support to a different conference that would love to have us! It’s sickening to me that our great university and leadership, as well as our team and coaches, know exactly what is going on, and we will not make a bigger stand than this! No wonder we roll over and clam up when things start to happen the way they did in the second half yesterday. They all know that there’s no way to stop it no matter what we do. What a disadvantage those guys are at before the game even starts in some of these games! It’s ridiculous!
Yup. Just keep improving, step by step, and eventually they won’t be able to hold us down.Politics and money. UT has no desire to leave the SEC, and DW and DP are unlikely to censure publicly. UT is a school that goes along. I don't think Randy is at all afraid to speak up, but UT has been handcuffed by the NCAA investigation. UT needed Sankey's support and got it, because it benefited the conference. That’s over, but UT remains an out of favor program. The conference has been displeased with UT in multiple sports and has made an example out of UT numerous times. UT needs to get its power back. Sankey may not like UT, but we're a Big 6 School and can make him respect our value. I think we'll do that.
Yeah but where to? It’s pretty much going to be SEC or Big 10.I've said for the last few years the best way to fix this is to leave this corrupt conference. With expansion this league isn't what it used to be. Traditions are going by the wayside. There's not a better time to do it.
Well..... This is really crappy then. Why stay with a conference that is this petty? We'll always be "out of favor" because the conference headquarters is 1 hour away from the biggest cheats in the NCAA and one of our biggest rivals. It's not going to get better, only worse. Yesterday should have shown everyone that, there are no consequences for corrupt officials or alabama. Besides, they still think they "owe" us over Philip Fulmer.Politics and money. Didn't work..You’re right. Hahaha. I took it too far. My apologies @Ulysees E. McGill. I think your reverse jinxes are great, and I hope you put on more steam.
Just like Smyrna said last night, they want our money without giving us a chance to win anything relevant.Politics and money. "The org and conference is corrupt, so let's rabidly give them our TV views so they can keep making billions from it."Need to flush this game and focus on Kentucky this upcoming Saturday.....I understand officials were horrible...but there isn't a dang thing we can do about it ....Onward and Upward....Go Vols..
Very true. UT is a revenue producer that draws viewers with marquee matchups. Sankey values money and wants the moneymakers. But there is no internal support for UT leaving the SEC. We just need to take the SEC money and use it to get back to being a power program that won't be denied. There's money to be made in other conferences. Part of the value of the SEC is because of Tennessee being apart of it. Even Skanky wouldn't want to lose the Vols.
Well sure it matters. If the top tier teams share more of the pie then it may offset the overall shortcomings.Does revenue sharing matter though? I'm sure the contract the SEC has is worth a lot more. ESPN has the SEC as their headliners, the ACC has to put games on the CW.
